Was worried it was going to be let down with so many players out.
Just think I saw Maximo Adams and some of the basketball guys.

Down 5 starters, one of the most impressive sports wins I’ve seen from a Tar Heel team in any sport.
Really dominated them. Easily could have been 5-6 goals.
Defense was really impressive as well.

The crowd being down all those players playing your archrival. That was a satisfying UNC victory in any sport as I’ve seen in a long time

Many would have guessed this would be a blowout, and going by what we had, it wouldn’t have been a hot take.

I usually have a lot to say, but right now I’m speechless. What a freaking A+ effort by our girls tonight!!! Congrats ladies, you absolutely deserved that one!
I have been critical of this team this year but tonight they make me eat some delicious crow. Not just because we beat dook but because they played a really good, smart, inspired game. And #14 (Manning) looks like a future star to me. Go Heels.
I’m starting a petition to move Lilliah Blum to the 10 position permanently. What an unbelievable effort from her tonight, she played like an All American. Two goals and a beautiful assist on the Bradley missile. Incredible individual performance amongst many of them tonight.

The announced attendance on tv of 6,700 made me wonder, since I didn’t think the stadium had that capacity, and a check on GoHeels lists 4,200 individual seats… there must’ve been a ton of SRO bodies around the concourse. Great atmosphere, regardless!
Was busy tonight, decided to just read this thread to see what happened. Very happy! Eat s__t dook. #2, don’t think so.
Wow 5 probable starters out against #2 Duke- NEVER count out a UNC team when their back is against the wall. Tonight felt like Blum’s coming‑out party. And Stratton… she didn’t start early in the year, stayed patient, kept working, and now she’s cashing in. Bradley misses almost all of last season with an injury, comes back this year, and makes a big impact when needed the most.
I love these stories. Great reminders that your path won’t always look perfect at the start. But if you keep your head down, stay committed, and trust your work, it has a way of turning out exactly how it should. With this mindset this will be an exciting team to watch.

Seriously that Shaela Bradley goal at the end was one of my favorite memories of UNC women’s soccer ever. It was so unexpected, it was so badass, and the absolute joy and elation the entire team went into was something out of a movie. One in a million moments like that are why I watch (and love) sports.
So many other incredible performances tonight…will have to discuss more later. It’s late but wow what a win.

Honestly, I was going to make a similar comment but didn’t want to downplay what we just did.
They’ve had a pretty light schedule. The Stanford win was good, but Stanford had over half of their starters out.
Dook is good but don’t think they’re #2.

At the 12 minute mark, it started to spit rain and UNC dropped into a mid block and I thought that was going to be a LONG 12 minutes to hold on. Then Shaela Brady: "I got this".
