Michigan fan here. I admit we should've lost and Western Michigan deserved the win. But let't not act like Michigan was given a easy field goal to win the game. It was another desperate haily mary last second play and as we all know the odds of scoring a TD is really low around 8% to 10% (about 1 in 10 to 1 in 12 attempts), Blame the WM defenders for failing to prevent the TD pass that sealed their fate.

But we will take it. A win is a win.

Go Blue!
Who's "we?" You on the team?

Of course "you'll take it." You're SCum and don't mind a little cheating to make things happen for you.

You gotta stop the "we" thing...as our chant is "We are"
And come on man...we'd take the win too

The same defenders who were led to believe they won and were celebrating, only to be put in a position where they had to scramble back on the field for a do-over?

None of you are giving um any credit for going 1 out of 2 on Hail Mary’s. If they hadn’t converted the second, what do you think the “officials” would have come up with to give um a third chance?

How lame. Never posted anything like that! You think you'd be too embarrassed after yesterday to ever come back.
You get embarrassed every time you post yet you keep coming back. And if calling out hypocrisy by morons like you is getting embarrassed, I’ll do it every day. Now go take your nap.

I keep seeing posts other places referencing how Michigan is not gonna have that luxury vs OU next week when they get stomped but Vegas has the line at 4.5 last I saw. Seems really low considering what I saw from both teams. I guess the refs count for 7-10 points at home for UM.

The Hail Mary went beyond the end zone. A WMU DB was first to touch it after having jumped from standing out of bounds. The clock stops when he touches the ball. The clock shown during the broadcast clearly hit 0:00 just before the DB touched the ball. The ruling on the field was that the game was over. Officials’ review of the play determined there was still time on the clock, so they cleared the field and allowed the last play. No penalties on the last two plays.

The play before the first Hail Mary was a spike to stop the clock. That play ended at 0:08, but the referee (rightly, IMO) added a second.

I’m no rules expert, but what I gather is that the rules allow for use of a stopwatch on the field, but the league statement says it was the stadium clock that was used in the ruling. The video shared by the league shows 0:01 when the ball was touched. But the clock shown during the broadcast is from a camera pointed at the stadium clock. And the broadcast clearly showed 0:00. It’s hard not to wonder if the league didn’t throw their clock video a half second out of sync with the play video when putting out their statement.

The video supplied DOES NOT show the ball being touched with 00:01 on the clock. The ball disappears over the WMU payers shoulder as he is reaching for the ball and then the clock goes to 00:00 but you cannot see the ball, let alone see it being touched, between 00:01 and 00:00. Saying it was touched with time still on the clock is a totally subjective conclusion given the angle provided - it is not conclusive that there was time on the clock when it was touched by the WMU player in the b1g video provided, the call on the field should not have been overturned.

Bring back flashback memories of when they put 2 seconds back on the clock for Michigan, against us. Remember that?
Chad Henne to Mario Manningham. Yeah, I remember that and it was the first thing I thought of.

During the review it was actually a call to the president at WM, he was told you let UM win or the next scandal they cause we get his team a hefty fine.

Reading a few other message boards, some on news sites, the B10 and UM are just getting torched. It’s actually very humorous. And unfortunately not a good look for the B10, although the conference deserves it for all the shenanigans it has pulled over the years, the vast majority favoring UM and O$U.

If you were to do a standard inference test on the proportion of bad calls in a football game that go in Michigan’s favor, compared to all other teams in the country it would be what we would call statistically significant

I wondered if I would see this argument, and it just popped up on the always reliable Facebook.

The poster claimed—including text from somewhere—that the ball should have been ruled OB when it crossed the back line, not when touched. Hence, using Hawkeye you can sync up the moment when the ball did indeed cross the line.

BS? Or is Hawkeye creating a new rule set?
