The Hawkeyes open the season with some MAC-action competition. The Hawks are replacing a lot of starters and don’t know who will hand off the ball yet.

It’s gonna be hotter than boiling sweet corn at Kinnick and KF teams typically struggle in September games. I still can’t get the taste off my mouth from the 2023 S Dakota game.

This game will likely be U-G-L-Y with the rotating QBs and conservative gameplan.

Read an article that had Nebraska as one of the oldest most experienced teams in the country. I guess we’ll see if that translates into win or not. On the flip side Iowa is one of the youngest teams in the country.

He's more likely to play that safe, conservative, don't run the score up and give anything away to our B10 enemies with their no-life cu*k assistant managers assigned to watch us like....well, like hawks to steal all our tells and scout against us style for a Week 1 opener.

Gotta keep it nice and boring for anyone that might be watching, AND so that this team doesn't get an inflated ego about what they might accomplish this year..........

Brown provides that guaranteed mediocre, pro style, immobile, pedestrian passing attack that Kirk yearns for from an offense, especially if they can run the ball, in spades, so that is what the fans are gonna get!

I'm gonna go 27-13, and that’s assuming our new kickers don't f***ing suck as well because we can't have nice things.

If Iowa doesn't put up at least 50 points and 500 yards, you can thank KF . . . again. Teams have been putting up 50, 60, and even 70 points in similar match-ups already this season. Fry would hang 49 on 'em by halftime. But this stubborn, conservative head coach never will understand that one of the main objects of football is to score and to do so as much as possible. And if Brown starts, well, we'll see how that goes, but we know KF's history on QBs, and it ain't pretty. With all the talent this team has, leave it to KF to screw it up. If Iowa puts up at least 50 points and 500 yards, I'll be happy to retract any assertions that may prove inaccurate. But based on more than a quarter century of facts, color me skeptical . . . I'll save cynical in case I need it for next week.

I do wonder....reading between the lines, and based on some things that were said on podcasts (yes I know....), if Hecklinski has a more fragile ego than Brown, and that never ends well with Kirk.

And for clarification (sort of), fragile ego can mean a few different things.
