It’s hard to put into words the level of trouble the Republican Party is in right now. The MAGA coalition (plenty of it is not MAGA) is in tatters. This coalition was heavily reliant on non-ideological, low information voters (especially Hispanics and white women with lower levels of education) who leaned Democrat in elections not centered on Trump, whom many of such voters perceived as a great businessman.

At the same time, MAGA alienated right leaning, more educated, better off voters outside of the South. There are literally like 5 such people in this category on here who would vote for Reagan but didn’t vote for Trump. But as Trump loses some of his less ideological and less engaged supporters, these folks aren’t returning.

There are solutions to this problem, but it’s gonna require a return to much more traditional R candidates, maybe with a bit more of a populist flavor but nothing like Trump. I’m not sure GOP primary voters are ready for what this means, they may have to be brutalized for several cycles for reality to hit.

Farewell to MAGA.

He quotes temps at the airport which is the hottest spot in the heat island of central Phoenix. Plus 2026 has 60% fewer "hot" days than 2023, which he says is when it was the hottest. So are we on a major cooling trend?

For at least the last week the entire SW has had high temperatures, from LA to Colorado. The automatic linkage to global warming is what is annoying. Kansas had a dust bowl for over a decade in the 1930's, like end of world bad.

No one is linking it to global warming here but you guys.

We’ve replaced water with concrete and more people using that limited water. It’s not rocket science. And it’s not global warming. It’s humans having an impact on local areas. But anytime that is mentioned, you guys get upset.

Heck, you guys know humans are causing all these fires (8 million acres, and rising). But when I say humans are impacting the local environment, your panties get in a bunch.

If you believe Phoenix is on a cooling trend, share the data. I know you are pretty intelligent and don’t believe that.

This. Chicken pox was fun, too.

Don’t get vaccines kids, the chances from dying from the measles are relatively low.

Trump 2 … catastrophic for Republicans … great for setting our politics on a better path.

Just too bad for some that such path won’t be right wing populist. Not too bad for me!

So now it is too many people yet you keep posting about record heat in Phoenix.

The imperial valley used 2.1 million acre feet of water in 2025, (approx 60% for alfalfa) more water than the entire state of Arizona. There are 500-900 farm operations using all that water - good deal for them at $20 per acre foot.

Welp. Labor Day is coming up, which means the Summer “demand” is over and gas prices traditionally go down. With this latest news of the Strait being free of Iranian mines, perhaps the RINO’s here can finally afford a tank of gas.

Notably, I've not complained about gas prices and support the efforts to bring Iran to heel. The zero casualty approach is not my favorite, but I do think the blockade is better than indiscriminately bombing military targets that simply aren't going to break this Iranian regime. At least imposing more general pain may incentive more domestic unrest in Iran.

It's everything else about Trump and his superfans that sucks.

I and others have posted a multitude of methods to utilize available potable water or produce more water than nature provides.

One I posted yesterday, even works better as people population INCREASE in arid areas. No worries about population density, ambient temps, average rainfall, just the conversion to proven methods of producing potable water thru science.

Not even one beaver !

So you are against his removing over 3,000,000 illegal immigrants. Like Obumma.

You further decry his turning the USA from the Worlds # 1 importer of oil to the # 1 exporter of petroleum products.

These silly postings of yours is why TDS keeps popping up !

You got me Big Will. There are other things Trump does that I support other than Iran. I thought you might notice the hyperbole, but alas in general I think the net effect of Donald Trump as President is very bad for the USA.

Trump did not turn the US from an oil importer into an exporter. That happened because Congress lifted a ban on oil exports in 2015, signed into law by Obama (before which the US definitely couldn't be a net exporter). The fracking boom had left the US with a glut of oil/gas production. All of this occurred before he was President. He is good on energy issues though, in all seriousness.

I am still waiting for the evidence on the 75% claim. It's not going away. You can always admit the claim is false, without alleging it was an "estimate" or other nonsense.

"...it's everything else about Trump that sucks..." (Drano).

Yet he claims to not be affected by tds/TDS !

I have little time right now for the board,

The 8 to 12 hour drama of Prince Harry and La Markle has me riveted to YouTube !

You neglect to note that it also grows a significant % of our food. That feels like an important topic when discussing best utilizing the limited water in that area.

Food for the country, or more resort communities in the desert?

Grok is much more centered than others, but in some ways this graph is woefully inadequate. Leftism is authoritarianism and illiberal. The graph doesn’t indicate that.

Alfalfa for China or water for all the new residents that big welcome mat senator Talarico is going to bring in. And water to the Imperial Valley will still be free except for the delivery charge. What a deal.

Yes, we should look at our water allocation and agriculture practices moving forward. Should we export alfalfa to China? Should we be importing beef from unknown countries?

I do find these conversations more interesting than talking about the WNBA and maps. Probably more important.

Start your own internet forum where you can be your own moderator, dweeb. There are multiple people in this thread who follow what’s going on in the WNBA. You’ve gone so far Democrat, you have no interest in protecting your kids from leftist garbage which is looney women essentially replacing themselves with pretend females.

I am on record that renaming Lake Ontario is really dumb, but this is quite humorous.

What an embarrassment for this country to have idiot, emotionally crippled Trump and his incompetent , idiot minions in charge. The country is going down the toilet and it will take many decades to undo most of the damage. .

Definitely just like Train. Cornyn doesn’t get his entitled way and is grabbing his ball and going home. He is also trying to insure “his” party loses the seat. Good riddance.
