Back when I was in college I got a ticket for 80 in a 55. Took the defensive driving class to get it dismissed the person sitting next to me got his ticket for 90...on Stark Rd.

Early 40s. Just wanted to get the car up to that speed so picked a safe spot between Louisville & Starkville & got there then back down to low 70s. Nothing dramatic.

I’ve discovered the older I get, the more responsible driver I am. The younger I was the worse. At 16 it took intervention from above for me to still be alive.

i had a 79 transam in high school. Of course we had to go to some country blacktop roads and top it out. I wouldn’t do that today.

It was dark blue with a light blue bird, not black and gold. 6.6 liter. I looked it up the other day out of curiousity, it got 11 mpg. Back then I didn’t notice as gas was about 1.10 a gallon.

I guess there was no speed limit,.... If the engine blew I would have been walking for some time to come.

So he was basically going 100 on HWY 25 or 82.

After games in Starkville, when headed home (JXN) there will be dozens of cars pass you going that speed on HWY 25.

18? Hold my beer please, MS drivers license age 15, buying beer and Menthol Vantage cigarettes at multiple places at 16. I wasn't one to kiss and tell but her name was Teresa and she loved to mix body fluids at a young age

My daily commute down 82 from Starkville towards Columbus I have my cruise set on 76 and it's pretty common to be passed by 2-5 cars doing 90+ in my 20 mile trip.
