I have never had a problem with his social media presence and have loved watching him wrestle.

Watching him wrestle and able to understand the effort the kid has put into his technique and conditioning I find it impossible to understand the negativity.

He seems like a great young man to me (and I have zero issues with his social media persona) and I love his relentless wrestling style. His parents though, they should stay off social media.

I thought he looked good but for the horsepower deficit. That arm spin was really pretty for the Georgian though.

Mastny kept getting caught underneath but scored easily late with a more sweeping single (yes I know Kurashvili might defended more earlier). Same thing happened to Fernandez vs India when young kids aren't used to people with such heavy hips.

It must be nice to be as good at anything as Bo is at wrestling. I know most don't have the physical ability to do so, no matter how hard they train, but, I love seeing guys that can wrestle at the insane pace of Nolf, Mesenbrink and Bassett. I would have hated to have to wrestle against them. All three of them don't even care or worry when they give up a takedown. They know that their pace will eventually win out.

For those that didn't see it, Bo gave up the first takedown, and then came back with a 4 on the edge, a lost challenge, then a takedown and a couple of guts for the quick tech, 12-2.

I don't understand how Turkiye lost the challenge in the Bassett match. He clearly came down on his front so it should not have been feet to back. there was eventually exposure but that was well ob.

I can't hear what the judge is saying, but, I'm guessing they called it continuation, which is always too much of a judgement call to me

My mat A isn't working but there's no Americans on that mat so far. It's been that way for the entire tournament. I'd guess 90% or more have been on B and C. Is there a reason for that?

Japan holding center. Rus warned first. Japan just missed ankle pick. rus warned for fingers and is on clock. Japan low single but rus spins behind a 2-1 Rus. Japan warned. 2-1 Magomedov at the break. not much action for 57

2nd.

Rus warned for face hits. Japan tries shrug. Russia pushes to edge but Japan hip heist for step out 2-2 rus. Japan tries to spin behind to nothing. Japan dives at ankle and is exposed 4-2

Magomedov wins. Some might call it tactical but I was surprised how little action there was.

Very little impact through U17 and U20. Russia is allowed to compete under the Russian flag rather that that neutral thing and won GR.

Kurashvili up on B to keep Mastny alive but opponent Togoev Russia TF him at Euros. Russian looked like a Mad Max character he was so out of gas a minute in. Kurashvili wins 16-6 to keep Mastny alive.

I never understood the total lack of a gas tank. I'm from the bad old days where rubber suit jumping jacks for an hour with the gym showers as hot a possible made 7-10% of body weight in a day not that uncommon but we still didn't gas in 2 minutes. How do the wrestlers even practice if they can't go.

Cortez holding center snaps to front headlock to nothing. UZB with shrug to Cortez front headlock to nothing. Cortez warned. Cortez put on clock despite holding center and the only offense. Cortez misses ankle pick and UZB warned. 1-0 UZB at the break.

UZB again backing up. Cortez deep single to TD and one turn. 4-1. Getting scored on prevents going on the clock sometimes. UZB with a half shot. to more hand fighting. UZB dives at ankle and holds on for a scramble. dives at ankle again Cortez bails to avoid the 4 and wins 4-3

Big team implications as Russia has been doing well. Bassett's father in the corner

Bassett heavy on head to start but Rus pushing him around a bit and get the TD. 2-0 Umarov. Umarov drops on the edge to prevent push out. Back to neutral as Bassett catches Umarov and has him on his back for a quick pin. 1:27

Burton huge underdog.

Burton working front headlock and gets Japan right to the edge before it's blown dead. Another front headlock as Japan is warned. Burton tries to snatch a leg as Japan goes on the clock. Lots of tie fighting forehead to forehead. Japan snap to nothing. Burton warned. 1-0 Burton at the break. Not a lot of action.

2nd

Burton warned for head slap off the whistle. 2 and 2 being challenged by Japan. Burton shot, Japan chest wrap to Burton exposing Japan. Challenge won 2 Japan 1 Burton. 2-2 Japan. Burton reaching for single. Nothing. 2 minutes left. Japan working 2 on 1 Burton pushes Japan to the edge but it's whistled stopped. Burton single to nothing. Burton gets him on the edge and works the exposure mat official give Burton sides give 2 Japan. Burton had Japan in quad as time was expiring. Burton loses 4-2 and got absolutely screwed. 5-2 after lost challenge.

Have to assume, it's effecting them somewhat, be it emotionally, pressure, lack of access to typical training facilities. In Russia and Ukraine they definitely know people that have died. Iran, too, I would think. The scale of death is hard for us to understand, myself included.
