ok here is my deal: I just came to this league to watch CC make threes. To her credit, she did a fairly good job of it last game. that "step to the left and bury one from way far away", that's pretty cool.

ok, but it's wayyyy wayyy beyond that now. this thing has gotten way off in the weeds. drama. national news. racism. anti gay. anti straight, anti white. And I like this drama more now!!! Sophie is my hero.

I am watching for the drama. love or hate Whitlock, but he pointed out something that I was thinking but never said. He said that CC has some sort of mental issues. watch her body language during the pressers at the end of the game. she is literally a week ago hitting her head on the mic in front of her. when white is talking last game, she is clearly freaking out a little. Whitlock says she is on the "spectrum", I don't know about that, the spectrum is wide now.

what I did notice in college with CC and now the pros, she complains every foul or every non-foul. Now, I do a see a double standard and these refs are blind. but it is her reaction to it, with the "what??!" arms in the position with the hands out facing to the sky. she stands there and does that while the play goes by. personally, this annoys me and I bet it annoys the officials and dang sure annoys the other team. but that part may be good. but she "gets inside her own head". looks like she distracts herself from playing. I even have seen her run up the tunnel and out of the arena. I have seen her even stand there throwing a tantrum while the other player burns right down to other end and scores.

I don't really mind the refs throwing out T's in these situations. the one that got overturned may have been just a casual brush up on the official. maybe she said nothing. but these officials are used to her throwing fits. and they kind of have a right to say something about it, every now and then. yes sometimes they do no calls when they should call it , they are blind. but CC will get another T soon and that is guaranteed. maybe it's payback for past behavior. a cumulative effect. I dunno which, but at some point, CC needs to not act like that. maybe it is in her nature and she cannot stop.

100%

I loved watching her play for the Hawks, she's a generational talent. Not a big WNBA fan (or women's hoops fan in general for that matter) but I do see/hear/read enough to have a feel for what's going on.

She handles herself very well off the court, seems very mature and professional. On the court, not so much.
she used to act a little
"princess-like" in college too. a little bratty. I have heard maybe her dad quit going to pro games. I dunno if true. he was at all the college games.

The elephant in the room is simply this. Both AT and DC played for SW at one time. Why doesn't the Fever organization break their Crony-istic bond with White so she can re-unite with these Alley Cats?
White is in an exclusive club or religion, and CC and Sophie do not belong to this club. AT must, apparently.

Haven't listened to Chicago radio since I was in my teens there. And my ears were glued to WLS before they f---ed it up by turning it into talk radio. Can Chicago media even be believed?
The play by play analyst for the game is also a show host on The Score - anything remotely considered to be conservative in thought is completely viewed in opposition by 90% of the station's hosts.

The Fever also (or at least did) see players like her and Lexie Hull as revenue-generating team mascots.

Huh? Were they saying that Caitlin was whining a lot in this game? If they're basing that on her totally justified reaction to the bogus tech then they're just crazy.
she whined all through college and all throughout the pros. she did and does. maybe not on the one play that got her the T. but she does whine and act bratty. I don't think anyone would dispute that. sometimes she has a right to do it . but she does do it and it's not a good look. on TV especially. and sometimes she stands there complaining while the play is going on at the other end of the court. she looks bratty.

Not going to happen. You realize that from the top down they were ALL together before in Indiana. White was handpicked when they brought in the front office, because she's their girl.

she will be -and is -a way bigger star than CC. This book will be a best seller and we are talking movies and so on.

Not this nonsense again. No one would know who Sophie was outside the league if it wasn't for Clark. I'd also bet that any book Clark authors will outsell Sophies 5 to 1..

agreed 100%. sophie got there- as did most of the WNBA- because of Clark. 100% agreed. but now sophie is on the rise, CC looks to be on the decline as far as "starpower" outside of Bball. I am talking off the court star. not bball ability. CC is better at bball than sophie, yes.

and I am talking long term with movies and such. ten years from now nobody will care about clark unfortunaely. but sophie, the sky is the limit. as far as movies and TV and so on. I could see clark maybe coaching or something. book sales be danged. I am talking movies.

That's not the point. She was their first and only choice when they purged the entire front office and brought in the entire group that was here when Indiana won their last title, and White was the coach.
I did not know they ever won a title before and I knew not White prior to this and last year. I don't watch bball period, not guys nor girls. and I just came for the three pointers by CC. Now I am here for the drama. apparently the owners of this crappy mess in the front office are part of the "club" or "religion" with steph white?? not shocking. CC and sophie are not in the club. I am saying Beth needs to replace slamdunk humberdink at the WNBA. beth is in the "club".

This is exactly correct, starting with the old woman who sat courtside with Krauskopf and Cox while Clark was getting accosted. She had that "distant" look on her face like she was holding knitting needles, looking at Clark like, "Well, hello dear."

My next post was going to be Caitlin had a 26 and 11 game and no one is talking about it. It's true but there's just so much bullcrap like this:

So no call on Cloud for the bump on Caitlin, a tech called on Caitlin for accidental bump on ref resulting from the Cloud bump, and then another Cloud bump, this time the intentional bump on the same ref and a no call.

This league is one bumpy ride.

A cynic might observe but being Black sure can help smooth that ride.

That’s pretty terrible.

they look bored at their own mess. they look down upon the peasants with their long hair and purple shoes and colorful nails.

go outside of the state of iowa sometime and ask the average person on the street if they know CC and then ask if they know sophie. add them up. then in ten years from now, pose the same question.
I live in the Chicago area dude, and no, I don't need your little test to see who has higher name recognition. Step outside your little right wing bubble and you'd realize that CC is the most famous female athlete on the planet. Sophie Cunningham will likely disappear in a couple of years and no one will know she even existed.

I meant it's more likely the Fever make this Sophie's last season in Indiana rather than Steph's.

She had a terrible 3 game stretch. If this slump continues I wouldn't be surprised if the Fever front office decide she's not worth the headaches she causes.
What headaches does she cause? She’s a draw. She is fun. Did she state an opinion? That’s quite the double standard.

First of all Chicago and Minneapolis are Iowa City north. or hawkeye north. secondly, nowhere has Sophie ever sated she was maga or right wing. she is "middle of the road"- her own words. thirdly I live in Austin area which is a left wing bubble. inside a red state of texas.

CC's fans are nowhere near "right wing or maga". I will acknowledge Sophie has found a fanbase on the right. but CC's fans are mostly liberal. The right and left thing is distorted wildly by distractions her and I think it is by design so we quit talking sports and start talking politics. as if they really needed another distraction. we got it here, though.

also I never said anything about "the most famous athlete on the planet"... I was talking about movies and starpower. those are different. they can be the same if you are OJ simpson I guess. ha ha

So many like to use the terms right wing or Maga when they don't follow the pack. Sophie said absolutely nothing wrong and any and all distortions of that one question answered are the real problem.

well, keep in mnid I'm a football guy. I'm thinking of the time the hawk fans stole the goal posts from the gophers. or AJ Epinesa and such from chicago area and chuck long. plus I watched the last game in Chicago and CC got many cheers from the crowd. I bet there were hawk fans like crazy who went there to the game.

I'm really trying not to argue with you, because I think your trying to be a fan {I guess), but your post is so full of holes and ridiculous. Clark is the most recognizable female athlete, (and may be top 5 NON athlete female) in the world. Clark is not on any "decline". You could go most places in the world and people know who she is and many wear her gear. That will only increase by multiples going forward. Her clothing line from Nike is just now rolling out, and her shoe doesn't even go into full distribution for another 6 weeks. She's the biggest female brand on the planet, and one of the bigger brands regardless of gender. For some crazy reason you think because your just a Hawk fan that people dont know her outside of Iowa. Do you know how many fans, and journalists from around the world were pissed that she wasn't in the last Olympics? Those road teams in the W, aren't moving to bigger arenas because of Sophie, and not Angel either. Its Clark who n ot only move the needle, she is the needle. Sophie may have a hard time even staying in the league if the Fever don't resign her, because her statements, (no matter how right the content might be) are burning ALOT of bridges with other teams in this mess of a league. She's a good player, but not good enough for some of these teams front offices to overloook that. Any book she writes might do fairly well amongst a certain segment. When Clark rights a book it will be a best seller read around the world, I'd bet.
