The same people who criticize Trump for reducing Federal government jobs are the same people who didn't have a problem when Clinton eliminated 400,000 federal jobs.
This is very true... Of course he had a balanced Budget then too... So there's that. And don't forget that when Clinton got rid of Fed jobs, he didn't have to go back and rehire a bunch b/c the folks that fired them didn't know what they were doing.

Job creation shouldn't rely on government job creation, or government job retention. Other than Nancy Pelosi, most economists agree that government spending does much less to increase GDP than private sector spending.

The jobs report isn't good. The unemployment rate isn't good even though it's not as important as the labor participation rate, which isn't good. At 62.1% there can never be a good attempt at more socialist policies. That's the key metric we need to be looking at.

Seems like we should lower interest rates. What is the Fed's mandate? Low inflation (check) and full employment.

We went from expectations of 3 rate hikes this year to now only a 40% chance of 1 rate hike this year. Maybe Trump was right after all!!!!
Someone skipped economics class in college!

Or in high school before you dropped out.

Midterms are gonna be brutal for Republicans.

Biden - 9% inflation. The highest in 50 years. Tried to pass BBB when inflation was 6%+. Inflation only came down because they released oil from the SPR just before the election. Their green energy policies and social welfare programs are massively inflationary.

Iran was considered a threat, even by Democrat Administrations. I agree the war is unpopular, but a threat has been removed for the foreseeable future.

Neither side has acceptable polciies on the deficit in my book. (I'll give Clinton credit here)

The Biden economy was far from the envy of the world. That is laughable. It was full of fraud, fat, and inflation. 9%. Additionally, the economy and inflation was the #1 issue in the election and Democrats lost in a landslide. They lost the electoral college, the popular vote, and all 7 swing states. Saying the Biden economy was the envy of the world after losing on that very issue seems a bit tone deaf.

The tariffs, while possibly inflationary, inflation is still much lower than under the Biden regime.

I can understand Government not investing in free market (like Trump Intel). But at the same time, i think social security funds should be invested in the free market.

The 9% was during the height of Covid and was one of the lowest in the G-20.

It was 3% when the economy was turned over to Trump in January 2025.

The economy was an issue in the election because people were pissed about the earlier inflation.

Trump’s election benefitted from the higher inflation during Biden’s term, much like Biden’s growth numbers benefited from the post-Covid rehiring boom.

The Economist was right about the economy.

You ignored several of the other issues.

The goverment should not be investing in private companies.

People vote with their checkbook.
That's how the Dems lost in 2024.
And it's the reason there will be a Blue Tsunami in November.

You can bet your azz the RNC knows this.

Reasonably strong?

1.5% GDP growth last quarter
3.5% inflation rate
NEGATIVE 23,0000 jobs created

That’s a pretty low bar for reasonably strong.
The unemployment rate is virtually unchanged from when Biden left office.

GDP growth rate by quarter:

Dec 2024 2.4%

Mar 2025 2.0%
June 2025 2.1%
Sept 2025 2.3%
Dec 2025 2.0%
Mar 2026 2.7%
Jun 2026 1.5%

Sept 2026 5.0% (projected by Atlanta Fed). I'm very skeptical of that but my point is that GDP growth has been relatively constant. Total GDP is roughly 10% higher now than it was when Trump took office (32.2 trillion vs 28.4 trillion)

You're the 3rd or 4th person who has looked at data I posted and accused me of being an ignorant Trump supporter. Why do you get so triggered by data?

I don't know about that. It seems as though Independents are doing an awful lot of signaling how they will once again be left with no other option but to do nothing because the DNC isn't disavowing the Democratic Socialists in Michigan and New York in a manner to their liking.

Until the people calling themselves moderate and reasonable start doing something beyond complaining and proteat voting every 4 years we're probably going to continue to see erratic and sometimes unexplainable election results. It's kind of a hallmark of a fracturing society.

Pretty soon the only Trump defenders will be the guy who thinks that Obama is surrendering to the DOJ because he’s gonna be indicted, the guy hung up on trans persons, and 40 of Ryan’s alts.

Tariffs - self-inflicted wound
Iran war - US worst military strategy defeat
Deficit - highest burn rate in US history

Trump - least popular President ever at this point in his term

MAGA!
there is the archetype of the sexy girlfriend who's a total nutcase and does everything to torpedo a relationshuip but just when the guy is about to kick her out she intitiates a fantastic sex session and he forgets about all her flaws. what i mean is november is still 3 months away and 2028 another 2.5 years away. trump's gonna try to last minute seduce his way back...we'll find out how skilled he still is

LOL

Wrong as usual.

All the G-7 nations hit peak Covid inflation in 2022 or Jan/Feb 2023.
The U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) hit 9.1% for the 12-month period ending in June 2022, marking a 40-year high. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (.gov) officially released this data on July 13, 2022

Lol you really will always be my ***** and biden will always be THE inflation president. A democrat legacy to be remembered.

Excuses are like a ssholes, everyone has one.

I think you are tone deaf. The last election the #1 issue was inflation and the economy. I don' think anyone has ever disputed that claim. Democrats got crushed.

The earlier covid inflation was exacerbated by Democratic policies. They walked in their high cost, highly inflationary social programs and blamed it on Covid. Reality is, their programs were massively inflationary and they tried to pass, and failed by 1 vote, the highly inflationary BBB.

If you want low inflation, Repuiblicans are the only way to go. Even right now, the inflation numbers look great minus oil. I've been harping it for a few weeks now. Inflation will stay tame with oil under $75. It's why the Iran war is unpopular.

We agree that the government shouldn't be investing in private companies. But for SS I think it's inevitable. The returns the government gives on SS are dismal and the program will eventually be an even bigger drag on our economy than it already is.

Friendly reminder that having professionals put together the government statistics was too painful for the Oompa Loompa’s feelings, so these stats are developed by people that are there to soften the blow. So, they’re assuredly worse than what’s being reported
We learned that the dolts generating the reports for sleepy joe made up over 800,000 jobs that never existed. Was it gross incompetence or were they outright lying? Either option is possible with the democrats.

Yes, peak Covid inflation in 2022. As I posted.

If you can’t be intellectually honest enough to recognize that Covid was a black swan event, and 9% peak was one of the lowest inflation rates of the G-20 nations during that period, I can’t help you.

But while you’re here, any updates on Obama’s impending surrender to the DOJ?

Are you going senile, old man?

Isn't it a shame how anthony fauci funded the gain of function research that led to covid existing in the first place?

Weird timing to try and talk **** on obama and his network of criminals given the news from this week (which i am sure you're entirely unaware of due to obvious reasons). Hint: you should probably look up operation oxferd c0mma

more great news from the jobs report:

full time employment - down 1,320,000 from July 2025
part time employment - up 347,000 from July 2025

people holding multiple jobs - up 342,000 from July 2025

table A9

This is a dreadful jobs report. Add in inflation that is outpacing wage growth and yikes, no wonder why so many are struggling. Anyone with half a brain knows Main Street is struggling right now.

one other thing. With All those government job losses and all those savings for the taxpayers, wouldn’t you expect us to be trending towards a balanced budget? Yet, here we are. Record deficits.

This is what happens when you have crap leadership. Crap is being kind to the current **** show in the White House.

this report alone revised the previous 2 month's job reports down by 103,000

"The change in total nonfarm payroll employment for May was revised down by 66,000, from +129,000 to
+63,000, and the change for June was revised down by 37,000, from +57,000 to +20,000. With these
revisions, employment in May and June combined is 103,000 lower than previously reported."
