I’d love to see them put the young Hawthorn on redshirt and take two more guys. If that’s not possible, Mitchell would be unreal with this roster. Honestly any of those guys would help us tremendously. Best of luck to the staff with this.

I dont know how it plays out - it may fall together just right who knows and I have high hopes on Milan n Wilkins. But from a talent stand point were closer to Miss St level talent than UK we just are.

You may argue it’s wrong but I guarantee you some teams start pulling scholarships to make room for these new 5-5s. I don’t think it would be an easy decision but if you knew that say Saunders and Kohler were 100% ready to go, maybe you let Potter go elsewhere. It’s a dirty business but now that we are paying mercenaries this is what it’s going to end up being at some point. Running it like a pro franchise. 15 best spots.

I just don't think they will do that and I don't think they are getting "lapped" by anyone. One real solid addition and this is a top 5 club

I don’t think it would be an easy decision but if you knew that say Saunders and Kohler were 100% ready to go, maybe you let Potter go elsewhere. It’s a dirty business but now that we are paying mercenaries this is what it’s going to end up being at some point. Running it like a pro franchise. 15 best spots.

The best answer would be to open up a short term window for all players for the portal(like a week) here very soon. The 2022 kids could all be eligible and go in the portal. At the same time players on current rosters that get recruited over could enter too.

That won’t happen though. We’re only a few weeks away from classes starting. I’d be shocked if the courts/NCAA have this figured out by then.

I disagree. I don’t see that being commonplace at all outside of walk on esque players where they remove the scholarship but pay the agreed upon small amount of NIL they might’ve gotten along with either an academic scholarship for a year/monetary value of it.

I’d have to assume these NIL/rev share contracts would make it a mess to get out of them.

There can't only be benefits to the players, with NIL. If they wanted to make it a business and get paid, then they can also get let go. The school has to have some power too. A guy like Potter got paid tens/hundreds of thousands of dollars to never play a single minute.
