Glad he kept his commitment to Sha and Seton Hall, and I believe as a true freshman will surprise many.
Hearing very good things about how he is playing. One of the surprises in workouts so far.

Is he considered an undersized 2 or can he run some point?
Is it fair to assume Del Jones is our starting PG and backup minutes will be fought for between Petrovic and Parker?
Hopefully he plays well, otherwise the innuendos and jokes will quickly and easily write themselves.
Dan, Coach Whalen was very optimistic of the freshman at the Day at the Track. He said we’re gonna like him a lot.
And my source is not coach Whalen. So that's two different people saying the same thing.
Encouraging to hear how well he is doing. The interview was a nice touch and opportunity to learn something about him. Maybe a question for Felt, as to what is SHU’s social media strategy when it comes to sports and the athletes. We are lucky to retain these kids for more than a year and barely know anything about them in the short time they are here.

I could of course be wrong, but it doesn't appear to me that we even have a cogent social media strategy.
Word I am getting is he's one of the top 1-3 players on the team to date.
I could see Wilcher having a huge year. Also very high on Williams.
He’s had plenty of chances to shine.
But so many times we’ve seen talented kids make a leap as seniors, because older players are, well, old. Which is why everyone wants them.
I’m banking on Wilcher doing so here as much as I’m not banking on “Payday” being the next Myles Powell.

I am high on Payday, not star kind of high, but as a solid contributor. I think he is a tough kid who has what Sha wants and will work his butt off to prove himself.
I see a good shooting, tough team, can hurt you from every position, and has 2 bigs who will play both sides well.
I like Payday and I think he'll have a good college career. But Myles Powell is on Seton Hall's Mount Rushmore and was an elite scorer, a certified bucket getter - a double-digit scorer from Game 1 as a freshman, a 3-time All BE player and All-American. I don't think Payday is that type of scorer or shooter.
I see him growing into a good 2-way guard who can defend, create TOs, rebound, pass a little and be a supportive scorer and leader who can impact winning in multiple ways. He was a big-time scorer at Catholic Central but when he stepped up in competition at Brewster, he didn't score like that anymore.
I watched a lot of his Brewster games. He struggled with the role adjustment and competition as a Junior but still made solid contributions. As a Senior, he settled in and was a team leader who was a versatile perimeter defender. Wasn't their primary scorer and didn't initiate the offense but was a consistent double-digit scorer. Averaged 12.5 pts, 4.8 rebounds and 2.1 steals in the top national HS EYBL conference for a Top 10 nationally-ranked Brewster. He had almost identical numbers in EYBL Spring/Summer play with City Rocks (12.3 pts, 4.0 rebs).
I think Sha will love him. He plays hard, he defends, he's athletic and is a team player. Sha will give him a chance to earn a role this year even though the backcourt is deep. I hope he will have a long SH career but hard to predict anything beyond 1 year nowadays.
Good thing to know I'm not alone on an island in thinking a top 100-150ish recruit I've never seen play will probably not end up as good as the second best Pirate I've seen in my lifetime.

That's good news, it's what everyone wants for all our players. Me and Fishjam simply pointed out in response to other posts that we aren't ready to declare him Myles Powell. I think there is a pretty big world between those two things, don't you?
My expectations were low for the first year player. But I'm now hearing he might vie for minutes.
That's better than I expected.
Same for the type of first year player we typically get under Sha.
Can we at least see the kid play first before we judge him either way?

Yay we have a new Myles Powell hopefully this one doesn't sue the school. Maybe Del Jones will be a new Terry Dehere. Sounds like we have a final four team in the making.
