This is my biggest issue with this entire thing…
IT IS GREAT THEY ARE PARTICIPATING (positive)
But don’t do it half *** which is so on board with seton hall. They’re putting together a roster to participate in 2 games, not to actually win. You want IW to be the captain fine, but the next call has to be Powell (get over the lawsuit), Rhoden, Richmond, and younger players. We don’t need Nelson, Brodie, Ndefo, plus 3 guys in their 30s.

It’s an unaffiliated exhibition. Relax, no banners are getting hung in Walsh after this regardless of outcomes.

Unironically understand what he’s saying though. Sounds like Desi & Angel were supposed to be on roster but have injuries. Khadeen may be too banged up as well. Powell doesn’t sound like it’s going to happen. Richmond is definitely getting a summer league invite and isn’t available.

Even if it’s not a perfect roster I’m still excited

There’s only 8 teams? Yeah this is way overblown

Don't watch.
This is a summer money tourney with 8 teams playing for $2 million winner take all, televised on FS 1 and 2. It is not a University run team but clearly connected and there is a lot of interest from the Seton Hall Community.

The amount of whining on this board from some is ponderous.

I love the use of the word ponderous. You captured this thread perfectly.

I won’t. Thanks. Ponder that.

The 2026 TBT features a revised 16-team bracket split into two distinct paths: an eight-team Alumni Bracket held at various college campuses and an eight-team Non-Alumni Bracket in Las Vegas. The two champions will meet for the $2 million prize on August 2.

1. Alumni Bracket
Eight alumni teams are competing in localized, best-of-three series across the country from July 18–24:
    • La Familia (Kentucky) vs. The Ville (Louisville): Games begin July 18 at Memorial Coliseum (Lexington, Ky.) and July 20 at Freedom Hall (Louisville, Ky.).
    • Hall In (Seton Hall) vs. Boeheim's Army (Syracuse): Games are slated for July 21–24 between South Orange, N.J., and Syracuse, N.Y..
    • Purple Reign (Kansas State) vs. JHX Hoops: First-round best-of-three series.
    • AfterShocks (Wichita State) vs. The Enchantment: First-round matchups running July 18–22.

2. Las Vegas Bracket
Eight non-alumni teams will play in a single-elimination, single-location event at the M Resort Spa Casino in Las Vegas from July 22–30.

Tournament Progression
    • Round 1 (Alumni): Best-of-three series July 18–24.
    • Round 1 (Las Vegas): July 22–30.
    • Alumni Bracket Final: Wednesday, July 29.
    • The $2M Championship: The Las Vegas Bracket winner travels to the Alumni Bracket champion's home court on Sunday, August 2.

Desi wanted to play but he's injured. Carrington is just getting back from overseas and might want to rest and pass on this. Add those two and I think the Hall would have beaten everyone in the alumni division.

Ryan wanted to get Powell but understandably at this time that's not happening. He'll be asked about that in our Trove interview.

That stuff happens all the time with TBT because you are dealing with guys who play in other leagues, other teams, have other contractual obligations, might need rest or be coming off an injury etc. Understandable.

btw I think you said this Ryan guy is an agent of some kind. Is he Sha’s agent?

The official website lists a player called Philip Carr as being on the roster, although he went to Morgan St not Seton Hall. What's the deal with that? Isn't the point to have alumni only

Pretty sure teams routinely combine or at least supplemental with alums from other places. I've watched this a bit in the past and followed it a bit in the past, and there was one team I believe that won a bunch in a row. They were a combination of former Big East/Northeast/NYC players, I think, although they all were connected in some way, shape or form. But the group wasn't specific to a single University.

Listen to me. They let anybody and everybody join this team. And the way that they do it is all f'd up. Guys don't have to graduate from the school. They don't even have to attend the school. No, @dehere23, either it has meaning or no meaning.

Only 4 out of 8 players are graduates of Seton Hall. Who really GAS? I don't but I'll be rooting for Seton Hall.
