Sorry I didn't read along far enough and answered the question also. :)

That was an interesting few days in the lounge. One of the chippier moments. People up in arms and upset because if they were not able to afford being a Swarm member or were dead set against NIL they didn't need a 'badge' to show they were a 'true' hawkeye fan. That post got locked up shortly after. LOL

My biggest message board enemy developed due to NIL/Swarm. I can handle Gibbs, WDDT and most of the MAGA posters on HROT or here. Thats why I ended my subscription and ended up on 247 for a while. This lounger would send me private messages about turning me into Tom because I would laugh at his posts while he would do the same to me. Turns out he is MAGA too. Imagine that!!! He didn't realize I'm a registered R. I just have a moral compass and think DT47 and his brainwashed cult are everything wrong about this country.

At the end of the day it is just glorified flair to label folks who try to buy Iowa into anything more than an average NCAA team. You've actually made the product worse. I wouldn't want the label

What’s ironic is you are one of the most even keeled posters.

Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled programming. I am nervous about how this impacts inflation with our oil reserves down to bare minimums. With no spare inventory I don’t think this bodes well.

Well this is a hill I'm willing to die on. Can you elaborate?

ftr I'm not this huge NIL proponent. My argument has always been.

What do I care about more than the Iowa Hawkeyes on a daily basis? Family, work, hunting, faith. Other than that (for better or worse) I have a vested interest in seeing the Hawkeyes be successful. I thought others (since we are on a sports message board) would feel similarly. The amount of money I spend already on tickets, tailgating, I-Club donation, etc......

Now the NIL landscape has changed considerably with Swarm probably 3rd in importance. I still feel it is a good investment in your team to be competitive.

That being said I agree that the NCAA is a joke and something needs to be done. But that is the million dollar question. Without congress getting involved what can be done?

Good, I hope they have a better plan this time. When faced with the two choices of paying reparations or bombing them more, I’d rather we keep bombing them.

That is the best option. Otherwise I would go to the UN and lay out a case for a group action to open the SOH.

I just think that asking middle class supporters to contribute so college aged kids could be given $$million to pay a sport is kind of backward.

You would rather have had all hawkeye fans dig their heels in and NOT support Swarm when NIL was happening whether we liked it or not? The hawks were about to get lapped and become the Kansas State of the 80's. No thanks for me bruh.

Iran slaughtered around 40,000 of their own people. I doubt their population is in love with their government. I don’t see a door to door house to house fight where every citizen joins the fight.
