My memories of McClean county are about to women....Specifically Sacramento, but it seemed like the whole county had magic beauty potion in the water back then. Not sure how it is these days but DAMN they had some lookers back then.

I dated a couple but saw a bunch I'd jump ship for.

Oddly enough, I was good friends with Chuck Broughton from Ashland.

Lived in Woodford Co. while attending UK. Moved around to other states since then. Now in SC. Try to get back to Rupp every year to take in a game. Happy old retired fart .

I'm assuming the Lakers walked off the field with an L. Calloway County football is typically an aquarium filled with hot dog water.

CCHS alum here. Didn’t play football, but was in the same class as Pookie Jones. Calloway had some good teams in the 80’s and 90’s. To be so anemic now, CCHS has a heck of a coaching tree. Sam Harp (He had a I assume stepson in my grade named Chris Mancini). Jack Haskins and the guy who literally wrote the book on the spread offense- Tony Franklin. I can remember going and watching them after HS when Franklin was coaching and they would throw the ball 30-40 times a game.
Nobody was doing that then.
I saw the most dominant HS performance that I ever saw when Artose Pinner came to Calloway with Hoptown had to run for at least 300 yards. He drug them up one side of the field and down the other.

Was born in Fayette Co. Grew up in Roanoke VA. Spent a few years in Madison and Scott Counties and parts of VA. Been back and forth for family and school. Have family in both states

I’ve been in 115 of the 120 counties. It’s amazing the difference in Pikeville and Paducah, Covington and Corbin, Hopkinsville and Maysville. There’s a lot packed into the state. Both culturally and geographically.

I think it’s because there are so many tiny towns that nobody has ever heard of that people do that. If someone is from Bowling Green, they don’t say they are from Warren County. If someone lives in Chestnut Grove, they are likely to say that they live in Shelby County instead.

No. I moved to Lexington in 1993 to attend UK. Never left. So, Lexington is really home. Love it here. Where is that subdivision? Never heard of it? I lived in a trailer park, down Highway 44 and Pitts Point Road. Ghetto as hell. But I loved it as a kid.

Bobby Watson who played for rupp was a hell of acoach back in the seventies . He had some great Owensboro teams . Cliff Hagan too.

I live about 5 minutes from Gibraltar Coal Mines, we hunted and fished there from the late 50's until they stopped us from going out there! We also fished Ken Mines quite a bit!

If any of you like to trout fish, I highly recommend that you book a trip to fish on the White, Norfork Rivers in Arkansas, you won't regret it!! I have been going for the last few years, largest one I've caught was a 8lb Brown! Great place!!!

And Perry, that is where my wife is from. Went to Hazzard to work on a Steven Seagal movie in 1996 and the first night I was there I met my wife at a steak restaurant, she came in bye herself to have a steak, and we have been together 30 years. But all of her family are hard core UK.
