Looks like Platner is done. Accused of rape.

Serious question. Why? Rape clearly isn't a serious issue for the voting public.
You may have lost the narrative a smidge. Just because one party seemingly condones this by their votes does not mean another party should. Selling your soul to win the senate is not the path forward IMO (but then again I’m an independent who thinks the two party system is broken).

Fuсk the scumbag Platner. Fuсk the scumbag Trump. And fuсk the scumbag Trumpers who excuse Trump‘s sexual misconduct while rubbing this episode in dem faces.

Nope, typically our collective moral code comes from the top. I am just jumping on the bandwagon. We need to decide, as a country, whether sh't like this matters to be a politician.

My observations are that it, in fact, doesn't matter if the president raped women or children.

Why would that be different for a senator or house rep?
Why does one party get to play by a completely different set of rules?

Platner needs to GTFO tonight. That said, these two shitbags can F the hell off. Go cash some donor checks and suck some more republican dick. You know you want to

Maybe they can scrounge up a candidate in a nursing home who will only lose to Collins by 30%

Sadly, the D’s don’t take losing well. Who can forget about their attacks on W when Al Gore lost.

HASAN explains why @TroyJackson207 is the best replacement for Platner. He feels that if the Democrats put forward an establishment Dem, they will lose the Senate. Troy Jackson is the only option right now. Graham Platner was defying the polls and the establishment pick of Janet Mills AFTER the first round of red flags and allegations. A progressive like Jackson is needed to combat Collins.

Disagree. The moral high ground has done what for the Ds? House? Senate? Exec? SC?

Again, I am an GDI like you. I have zero idea why the Ds hold themselves to a higher standard. If it doesn't buy them anything, they need to stop.

Sh't like this either matters or it doesn't. Elections have consequences. We cannot have it both ways.

Platner can F off. Aside from being a terrible person and a very convincing liar, he screwed millions of people who believed in him and were counting on him. Those who said he was Fetterman 2.0 were correct.
There’s a lesson to be learned here. And that is, “When the goddamned candidate has a Nazi tattoo, you cut friggin’ bait right there and then.” How many months spent defending a Nazi tattoo and various skirmishes instead of backing another horse?

All it takes to have the moral high ground on Graham Platner is not being a rapist or a nazi. I'll claim it.
Not even remotely accurate. It means holding everyone to the same standard employed here for Platner. Excusing it there while condemning it here would mean that person possesses no moral compass at all. Can't find the high ground without one of those.

Yes, I supported Platner as the working-class progressive against the Schumer-backed corporate machine.

But unlike my moderate colleagues and Republicans, I can and will disavow Platner when credible accusations like these come to light. He should clear the field so that someone like Troy Jackson can take the helm.

So here's a challenge. Moderates (hi Aunty Neera Tanden), go ahead and disavow Bill Clinton. Republicans, you're in a cult that can't even call out Donald Trump or the Epstein Class for being child rapists.

That's the difference between our movement and theirs. We're loyal to progressive policies and the working class, not to any one person. We'll move on from folks like Platner the moment they betray that. The other side is in love with proximity to power and cannot ever move on from their cult leaders no matter their flaws.

"You are MAGA. I win. I win...." lmfao.....

What grade are you in?
You - the hatred of Trump is something I've never seen in my life.

Me - makes a counterpoint without insulting or calling names

You - false whataboutism while insulting me.

Me - notice you also say stupid crap in non-political threads & call you an idiot, since that's how you communicate

You - gibberish you try to attribute to me(?).

And I bet you're convinced you're doing well in this back & forth.

Find someone else, esp if there is a name that has local recognition. Troy Jackson? Then the drum starts as soon as it's announced. The party has no patience and tolerance for the type of people like trump and platner. Collins is just as bad as she has been willing to tolerate Trump and all his ugly warts. A vote for Jackson is a vote for real change. At the state level and for the nation.

The democratic vetting team couldn’t organize a two car parade.

Why is Trump in the Epstein Files tens of thousands of times? Why won’t he release them? Why does his DoJ continually lie about them? Why hasn’t a single man who raped girls been arrested? What does your logic say?
The only Epstein files ever released were done by the Trump administration. In the millions. Epstein was arrested during Trump 45. Come back to reality.
