Didn't see the first goal live, but both times we're the ones acting like the outmatched, under-talented team of defenders just watching the balls float into space until it's too late, and that includes Freese in goal..........
No effort to be proactive and anticipate and it's not like Belgium is doing anything with the ball extraordinary where there was nothing the U.S. could do to defend. We're simply just being egregiously reactionary to everything Belgium does, which is what U.S. soccer has ALWAYS done as the importance of games gets higher and higher and the quality of the opponent improves, even though that doesn't necessarily have any correlation to us being more or less proactive vs reactive.............

Yeah, it’s not athletic ability. Freese has tons. Why don’t we have any goalkeepers with an IQ over 100 anymore? We once had Meola, Howard, Keller, and Friedel.

But that's what our U.S. soccer "athletes" all do in every World Cup.............I don't think getting more American athletes who would've otherwise been elite football players would make a difference.

We have been absolutely awful tonight. Passing has been lousy, first touches lousy, just all-around lousy. Cannot even do simple things, it is taking multiple touches to gain ball control on uncontested throw-ins.
This tournament is 100% a failure for the USNMT. Nothing was accomplished. We didn’t move any further than we have before. Only 2 wins in a weak expanded group play. On home soil and zero was accomplished with the golden generation. Back to the basement of world soccer we go.
