I love technicalities. Tell ‘em, we’re back up…

Man, not sure how I feel about this.
Never liked the red card in that situation, but this feels…slimy.
If they would’ve just said immediately after the game that VAR protocol ****** up and was used improperly there would be much less outrage. But this reeks of trump ******** and is a massive **** stain on the US and the tournament. Viva la Mexico I guess.

Exactly. The decision should have come quicker, been explained that the VAR protocol was broken, and this decision would have had very little controversy. It was the issue every rules commentator had with it. Instead, it looks tainted.

Procedurally, the ref is not allowed to review fouls in slo-motion which is exactly how Balogun was issued a RC. Even in slo-mo, it didn't merit a RC as it was accidental. There is nothing slimy about it. The refs screwed up and FIFA has corrected their screw up.

All that is true…but they screwed up and there was no walking it back once red card was issued. There was no appeal process. That is what is “slimy”. They just are now ignoring the rules completely to make this exception

And if the situation was reversed we’d be angry.
I guess but any objective person would say that Balogun didn't deserve a RC. The US had to already play 30 minutes down a man and that's more punishment than they deserved. I'm a US fan so I'm elated Balogun can play tomorrow and I don't really give a **** what Belgium or anyone else thinks. The US has been hosed so many times over the years at WCs, it's nice to see them not get screwed for a change and a horrible and procedurally wrong decision get reversed.

Total hijack but I had the dumbest round of golf ever recorded. It's like I just forgot how to play.

-1 through 4, missed some shots but still stuck the ball well so I went to +3 for a 39 at the turn but not mad (I'm a 12 HC). I go on to shoot a 50 on the back nine hitting all but one fairway out of the box. 3 penalties, three 3 putts, three holes with two chips around the hole.
I once shot 50-35 in a high school match. I was infallible on the back nine, and My opponent was PISSED.
