Are you going to open your child a Trump account?

but the page says "Get $1,000 for every American child born between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2028." does this really apply for up to 18?

thanks...so there isn't a incentive unless you have an infant or about to have one correct?
also OP needs to edit his post coz it isn't accurate
For the record, I applaud Congress and Trump for these accounts (the name is dumb, but …). I do wish there were better protections for premature withdrawals of the money and I wish the seed money applied to all under 18, but this is probably the best (very low bar) idea this moron has implemented.

then no. free money would be the incentive, no?
For the Trump account, that would be the incentive. There’s plenty of incentives for other vehicles like a 529 or IRA or other investment for minors. You would likely have better participation if you made it all children under 18, but that would have meant a lesser tax cut for those above a certain income and we can’t have that.

The guy is such a petty phuck.

One. He has to put his name on f.ckin everything. He didn't find these accounts. Taxpayer did. So why's his gd name on it?

Two. Why didn't fund them before now? Is he so insecure that he needs our nations 250th birthday before he will give kids money?

Three. Why are the accounts only available to kids born under his presidency? Kids born under Biden aren't good enough? Again, it's more petty bs that he will only help people so long as it's connected to him.

And four. Why did he rape kids? And why is he refusing to prosecute all the Epstein child molesters?

Holy **** some of you have the TDS bad.

While I think the program could be better, this is EXACTLY what we should be doing - incentivizing families to responsibly save and invest their money for the future. In this case, giving their kids a head start on saving.

We already max Roth IRAs for our kids each year and you can’t deduct the contributions to Trump accounts, so there aren’t dramatic tax advantages for us. I’m guessing we will fully fund these regardless, though. Have a call with my advisor tomorrow and this is an agenda item.

For those with younger kids and who don’t have other strategies in place, it’s a no-brainer.

So why is he putting his name all over it, refusing to fund it until the 4th, and screwing over all the Republican kids born under Biden.

Like everything else, he botches everything he touches. He can't even do this correctly. Fire his old azz already.

don't we call the ACA "obamacare" and inflation "bidenflation"

Most predictable post ever. Pretty dumb and really not even comparable, at all, but you do you.

Fwiw, I applaud the effort on this. At least it does appear to be something that can benefit everyday Americans, albeit very flawed.

You will really look for the sh it in anything if you are complaining about a free $1,000 investment account.

You will never be satisfied. It will never be enough. You will always be owed something. You will never appreciate a gift.
Provided someone is eligible for it. If you're kids are still young but not toddler age or newborns and therefore not eligible for the seed money then what are we talking about? Great that it's available for those that can use it? Kinda like any other free ride that only certain people could use that you and your ilk usually hate, right?

Plus he just has to piss on everything with his name. It's gross.

Not sure how familiar you are with American presidents, but you can’t exactly fire them.

Who cares when he funds it? They probably needed time to align the funding and the 250 celebration seems as good a time as any to launch this.

There had to be a cutoff somewhere. I’d love to get free money for my 6 and 10 year olds, but I’m not bitching about it. Because I recognize the reality that it can’t go back in time forever due to funding as well as logical compound growth upside. Ie very young kids will get more benefit from the $1k.

Seems you fellas just like to ***** and moan.

You apparently didn’t see my post above where I applauded the concept. I just think there are issues with the design.
