Do you think people come here for a play by play of a live game? You don't need to post what everyone is either watching or will go somewhere else to see.
1-28. Some of your best work. Please go back to making political posts so you can be banned and make this board a better place.

Germany result was wild.

Paraguay going up at the end of the 1st half was huge especially with their style of play. Still deciding if I agree with the var reversal of Germany’s
Goal in the first period of extra time.

Don't listen to the announcers on that one, that was as deliberate a pick on the goalie as there ever will be. Great acting to make it look accidental but that's why they have VAR.

Just a casual fan but is this the same Paraguay that we dominated and some posters wrote off saying that they were not very good?
Yes…we were fortunate to win as big as we did, but we still dominated possession and were in control from start to finish. I thought it was a great result that night, and the last few weeks have reinforced that Paraguay is decent.

My take…I hate it, but it’s consistent with how it’s called in every game.
Similar play in this Netherlands game…a Dutch player makes minimal contact with the Morocco keeper on a corner and they whistle the foul…while at the same time, two Morocco defenders have Dutch players in bear hugs.

I don’t agree we were “fortunate” to win. We dominated play for most the game , created way more chances and shots on goal. We earned the 4-1 result.

although I think we were somewhat fortunate to win 2-0 cs Austrailia

Yes and yes. Paraguay was not very good the night we played them. The question is, were we that good or were they that bad? We'll have a better answer to that question in 48 hours.

It may not have gotten to the PKs if the German player had not obstructed the goalie on that corner kick. I'm glad that FIFA is cracking down on that stuff. Corners have become a WWE event pre-kick.

Banned lol? You don’t answer my question though so I’ll give it to you. You’re not a play by play announcer captain obvious. It’s vomit posting. You should just open up your PH window with the Asian bush fetish vids, which we all know you are perving. You’d be more productive.

It was only a friendly but we played Germany the week before the WC started which makes it more than just your average scrimmage. A lot more. We had our starters in for the first half. Wound up losing the game but in the first half when it was best on best, I wouldn’t say we dominated them, but we had our way.

Europe 0-2 so far in knockout round

And 2 European powers - not like it’s Czechia and Switzerland. We are talking about Germany and Netherlands!

Unfortunately, some of the posters on here are grown men but act like children. 90% of their posts are just trying to bully and troll others. Very bizarre behavior and it brings down the site for other members.
90%? Agree there is trolling and stupidity but it’s more like 10%

It’s worse on the free board I think

Let me clarify, there are a specific few posters where 90% of their posts are nonsense trolling. I wasnt blanketing that on the entire board. I think a majority of people on this board are normal humans and capable of civil discussions. Its just unfortunate that the few cant help themselves.

As a long-time Germany fan (I'm half German and they were the first World Cup team I rooted for since the US didn't generally qualify back in the day), this and recent WC teams are not vintage German teams. Germany should be able to get by Paraguay, but I'm not entirely surprised by yesterday's result and I wouldn't put this team in the European power category.

I think Paraguay learned a lot from the US game about how they needed to play going forward. They were incredibly organized and disciplined defensively which frustrated Germany to no end. Germany definitely needs that next infusion of young talent with the "it" factor, or at least the killer instinct when it comes to finishing which the best German teams always had in the past. At least my full, undivided attention can now be focused on the U.S.

They have to eliminate use of PKs for these events! It’s an AWFUL way to end a game after 120 minutes?

Easy fix:

For every 15 min OT you drop a player so the first is 10v10, 2nd is 9v9, 3rd 8v8.

Trust me, with the extra space, somebody will score and it would be incredibly exciting and more skill based than PKs where literally RU could beat one of these teams in PKs - so much luck involved based on GK guessing right vs. left as they lean before the kick

Not a fan of this idea. Even hockey doesn't do that in the playoffs. Just let them keep playing and add 1 extra sub for each 2 15 min extra time they play. Eventually someone will score.

What an amazing goal by Mbappe after Olise almost had two fantastic goals, including that bicycle off the post. France just dominating - they're going to be hard to beat.

Norway - Ivory Coast was entertaining too.

If you're willing to let them play indefinitely, I think you have to allow unlimited substitution at each interval, including return of players previously subbed out.

Agreed, although Clattenburg explained why it was a foul quite well right afterwards, including the guidance FIFA gave on this kind of interference. I'm biased, but I like the emphasis on protecting the keeper.

Your obsession with my posts and porn are unhealthy. And posting what happens in sporting events is what many people do here - this thread is the equivalent of a long game thread.

Continued enforcement of this rule will eliminate some of the pre-corner kick nonsense. But they also need to weed out the WWE garbage pre corner kick in the rest of the box.

We've already seen less Oscar worthy diving due to the mistaken ID rule where VAR can intervene. Huge positive for the game. Continued enforcement on these things will bring the skill back into the game where it means something.

No NHL had gone to 3x3 skaters but not sure if they still do it

I’d certainly allow subs for each OT and shorten to 10 min each

We have to do anything other than end with PKs
