Is anyone seeing a lack of urgency on France’s part? 34’.

Senegal fun to watch. Crisp passing in the box. First half stoppage time.

Good Lord, what a wasted opportunity for Senegal to go ahead at the half. It was right there.

Mbappe is pretty good.

Mbappé is so fun to watch. Unless he’s playing against you. It’s always a bit hard to watch the lengthy list of former Dortmund players succeed at greener pastures. BvB, they sign and train them so everyone else can poach them. Rinse the transfer fee to find more young talent and repeat.

I left work at halftime to Uber home to watch the second half and to get ready to watch Håland.

Ronaldo is going to be a bigger ball hog than usual tomorrow to try and take some of the spotlight away from Messi.

The Messi vs Ronaldo argument was a close one prior to the last WC, but after Messi lifted the trophy after a great run of games and Ronaldo played petulant team-wrecker, the choice of modern-day GOAT was clear to me. Messi is just widening the gap now.

One thing that I love is the different fashion choices from coach to coach. Some look like they are going to a business meeting, others much more casual...some wearing team issued gear, others wearing nothing to show they're with a team at all...Poch looked like he was heading on a safari on Friday night. Most sports, it's pretty standard across everyone (then again, College Hoops spans the spectrum from Jay Wright to Bob Huggins).

(this is the deep analysis I bring at 1am on my 6th day in a row of watching non-stop soccer)

Yes, it might get ugly.

This one really feels like a "World" Cup. And, even though there have been a number of draws, most have had a bit of scoring.

Messi still has it! His passing, the timing and vision are still superb. I couldn,t believe it.
The announcer was saying he's the GOAT, but I like to think of it as the greatest (20-25) players of all time. (As) there have been many.
Certainly I think Messi is in the top five. Argentina to the semi's , I think.
