Is Lebby on drugs or what? One 4 star. If he thinks he can win in the SEC with these kind of classes, he's nuts. I don't remember our recruiting classes in the modern age being so mediocre as Lebby's.
Not disagreeing but his portal recruiting hasn’t been much better and everyone said he was a recruiterWith the portal it’s hard for me to even care about recruiting classes anymore. Who knows who will even be here year to year?
Oh I’m not saying he is killing it by any means. Just saying don’t really care about high school recruiting anymoreNot disagreeing but his portal recruiting hasn’t been much better and everyone said he was a recruiter

But @Bulldawg77 say…..I'm not Lebby apologist but.... I imagine money is mostly the problem
agree. Kroemhoek was an expensive clip board holder.Truth be known any decent MSU coach should be able to win with second level players. By that I mean roughly top 30. And we have the money for that.
Have you seen his portal transfer classes? With the portal it’s hard for me to even care about recruiting classes anymore. Who knows who will even be here year to year?
Then do it…. Go ahead and care less, bc I couldn’t care lessI honestly could care less about recruiting rankings. Either it’s fixed this year or he’s gone. That’s all I’m spending any energy on.
Of course he’s not. We all know that we have SOME money, but we aren’t playing the blue blood game. Not even to Ole Miss’ level. Our fans hate to hear that. Oh well. We basically are where we’ve always been.I really really hope that guy is right. But I know he’s not.
That's exactly what MSU has done over the years. Since 1985 we have averaged 6 wins per year and since 2000 we have around a 25-30th recruiting ranking. NIL has screwed us over and adding another SEC game makes it worse. I'd say NIL costs MSU 1 game per year (or more) and the extra SEC game will be another game lost. So, if you mean win 4 games with second level players, then history backs you up. What's going to happen is Lebby will eventually be fired, some other coach comes in and performs about the same and we are having this conversation all over again. We've all seen it happen over and over again. As for me, I'll enjoy watching Super Kamario this year and celebrate the wins and highlights. So shouldn’t we figure out how to make that work via some niche? What’s the easiest to do, find a niche or just try to buy the talent necessary to win conventionally? That's exactly what MSU has done over the years. I agree with a niche offense which is why I loved Coach Leach. There are plenty of athletes in the Southeast to run a multiple style offense. No reason we couldn’t have several packages with diffferent skill players at QB. Think of all the QB’s turned WR, RB, CB, safety and LBer. We could keep them at QB, one run option, another spread and another wishbone. Hell, run two teams of linemen. We would still win the same number of games or more and be interesting to watch. We might even build a traditional team spirit by letting the Mississippi kids play their high school positions. I always wanted to see Derek Pegues have a few plays running ball at QB.So shouldn’t we figure out how to make that work via some niche? It was only from scratch because WE CHOSE to do that.MSU has a NIL problem, perception problem, added a 9th SEC game, and has been building an entire roster from scratch albeit in year 3 of it. If it doesn’t happen this year it’s not happening and we get to restart the whole process.
That’s RuNdAbAwL. And exactly what we getting in 2026The niche offense will be QB run every play.
Called QB run
Drop back. Avoid Rush. QB run.
Will it at least be SHOWTIME RuNdAbAwL?***That’s RuNdAbAwL. And exactly what we getting in 2026
Mississippi State Football: 16th in the SEC; 17 in our hearts…Wait dang minute! I just realized you said State is 16th in the SEC in recruiting. How is it possible to be that high?![]()
