USC is a top 10 team in RPI or close to it
it’s not like we are playing a bad team. They are the last undefeated team in the country and have been much better the second half of the year
We feasted on a lot of bad pitching. USC has really good pitching. Our offense has been really reliant on walks and making pitchers work. Guys who can command and pound the zone can get quick outs.
So Boaz would have done worse through this point?

I bet next year we have a good regular season and come up short in June.
They were something like 9-13 on the road this season before this series.
You can take this RPI stat and throw it away.

I mean you neutralize a pitching advantage by making the zone the size of a quart jar. Having to pitch to the middle of the zone, makes hitting easier. They’re taking pitches and hitting the ones in the middle of the zone.

The point still remains. Unc was a major favorite in every single game. And yet are staring down elimination AGAIN in a super regional to a non ranked team
I liked Boaz because it was a different look (a lefty). And then you bring Caden in. Not to mention baseball players are creatures of habit. But it’s all hindsight.
Well boys you're digging yourself a hole that is going to be hard to dig out of. Add in the putrid funk they are in at the plate and it looks bleak. Obviously there is time but it will need to start the next at bat, IMO.
