To all of my friends on here who said MP could not recruit because he was 'dorky'.
MP could not recruit because of his 'religion'.
MP could not relate to young players of today.
Things are looking up with MM coming and now 5 star Ryan Hampton commiting to us
MM's Dad was quoting as saying MP won him over.
Hampton said MP did not sugar coat anything
Bottom line, things are looking up and MP is our coach and I hope we can now all rally behind him and this team.
Not to mention if Jamal Crawford come on board !
Really excited about this season and the future of our BB program.

Praising a coach when they succeed and criticizing them when they don't is a tale as old as time with being a fan of any team/organization. Literally every fan base does it.

Pope is now proving to us he can recruit now.
Actively cheering against a coach in hopes of him getting fired is not normal. Not every fan base does it. It is not forgivable.

I dont think so. Pope hasn't apologized for the last 2 years. He even exaggerated them as something positive. Id say more like he needs to keep doing what he has been the last week moving forward with recruiting. Next step is having the team more prepared for tipoff and not falling behind double digits so far.

When you love something as much as we all do with Kentucky basketball, it's understandable that some of us have said things that we wish we never had. I am a positive and optimistic person by nature, and even I have wavered in my thinking, but never IN MY HEART, that things would turn around for us. Eventually.

We just all want that turnaround sooner, rather than later. Pope has our support, it's not that everyone was insistent on wanting him fired. I certainly didn't. He still needs to deliver results, however.

Many here will gladly eat crow for what they have been thinking, and it's alright to be critical and to hold Pope to the highest standard there is.

I'm just glad I am not one of them.

Be happy, and enjoy.

No fan loves Kentucky basketball, no fan loves the BBN more than our ouch. No one . This Internet world has ruined people. Why save for s9mething when I can charge it. I doubt Pope ever really wanted Stokes because next year he is gone and hope Kansas sees what many UK say. We got a team player.

They'll attack posters they don't like and/or hide in the shadows and work to get them gone so they can sleep comfy at night and continue being nasty and weasely.

And what exactly do you want him to apologize for from year one?

The ones like Son of Saul who had Cal up his butt is the one that needs to apologize to the BBN for being so negative toward Coach Pope. He probably means well so the Pope can take his confession
People still listen to Son of Saul's gibberish? He's miserable.

Pope whiffed all spring LOL. Are you kidding me? MM fell in his lap cause he had more money than everyone else cause no one big signed up here, so he just shoved $6.5 million to make him come here. Believe you me, if there were some more programs offering the same money, he would not have come here. The fact that he almost went to Louisville for less money and less minutes shows you how horrible of a recruiter Pope is. So no, there are no apologies.

Its been a good week. Hard to complain now, just need to see how he does when the seasoj gets going, because we all felt great this time last year.

Getting Hampton hopefully shows that he can recruit. If he can continue getting big targets like Mom snd Hampton AND he can fix the in-game coaching, than this can work.

I don’t think any UK fans are unhappy that we landed Milan and now a top 10 recruit. BBN just wants to win!
I think you’re probably right for the most part but you sure can’t tell it by reading this board. There are a few that “know” what the future holds and they come across to me as they would rather be right than Pope turning things around.

I can see nothing positive will come from you even when positive things happen for us, so I’m going to put you on ignore now and save myself from reading idiotic comments later on.

No apologies. It's a message board and we post in the moment. That's the purpose of all this. One problem we see now is we feel we must be 100% negative ("that person the worst person in the world and my online identity will be consumed by bashing that person all the time!") or 100% positive ("OMG that person is the greatest and my online identity will be consumed by defending every move they make!") and we reallllly need to get away from that damaging mindset. It's definitely infected this board in recent years with Cal and now Pope.

We've got some positivity heading into the summer. If they lose a game by 25, guess what? We'll be here to criticize it. And if they beat Louisville by 15, guess what? We'll be here celebrating it. Some have been way too negative while others way too positive. I'd just like posters to stop being some sort of gimmick and just be real lol.

One of the posters that "liked" your post vanishes completely when we win, LOL. Not one single ounce of "happy". I digress. Have a good weekend.

First off, Pope has deserved every bit of criticism he has received, up to these last 2 recruit signings, and he was firmly on the hot seat going into next season, in part because of his long list of recruiting failures.

However, Pope like anyone else, can make changes to change course for the better, and recently he has done that, and now he deserves ALL the credit for doing so!

The “fire Pope” argument can go back into cold storage for the time being, where I hope it stays for the foreseeable future!

Now, let’s just enjoy the rest of this offseason, and look forward to seeing the games next season, and let’s all get behind him, and see what else he has up his sleeve.
