You can’t win a game in the first inning but you can lose a game. Same premise goes for basketball and all sports. That 3 outs with the bases loaded was absolutely atrocious. I have no idea what was said but the guy was finally finding his groove and we are sitting with the bat on our shoulders on way too many good pitches.

First pitch strike call set that whole half inning collapse in motion. Not a strike. Not close. Edwards struggling with command and he’d be down 1-0 with bars juiced. Who knows what happens. Not the reason we went scoreless but one bad pitch call could have been 3+ runs and mason out for the same price.

Yes. Surprised Paulsen is hitting 5th vs a stud lefty. The only pitch he had a chance against was the first one and he took it.
