As I was telling @HoggI74 , I am currently in Nuevo York. From cedar rapids to Washington dc, my row mate was none other than 3x mmm, congresswoman of jo co. I see that my second choice, cb won, against some guy I never heard of but time to give 3x mmm another reason to practice medicine again in the fall.

It's overstated.

I don't care about endorsements. Not one bit.
Why do you continue to support Iowa collapsing then? Iowa was a great state leading the way in public education for a century until full Republican control the past decade. Governor Ray a great man and leader Republican would be considered a RINO today by the once great GOP turned anti American Fascist cult.

He’s a local yokel from Lone Tree. Drinks Hamms beer and plays in the euchre tournaments. Leads trump when he should’ve stayed back. Poor card player, makes bad decisions. Won’t lower the flag to half mast if Trump is finally assasinated…
He's out! Poor card players, especially poor euchre players, are the worst.

I know and why I am slightly concerned now Sand was a slam dunk vs Feenstra. No idea currently.
I think against Lahn it's even more of a slam dunk. He's a real super duper nut.

It's going to be horrible for the state if Sand doesn't win.

I'm also hoping the Dems can at the least seriously cut into the Republican margins in the Legislature. The Republican party at the national and the local level is destroying this state.

He will step down and the next Republican governor will name his replacement to serve the balance of his term, thus giving the sitting senator a leg up in the next election.
Given the bang up job Kim Reynolds has done, I'm not sure you should be writing in a Republican as Iowa's next governor. Maybe in pencil.

Lahn is by far the lesser known of the two candidates. Against a highly well known opponent like Sand that may not be good. He will have a lot of catching up to do, he will need a ton of money to introduce and define himself to the rest of Iowa, and maybe most difficult of all, he will have to mend fences with a president he just made look bad.

Sand raised close to $10 million the last five months. Lahn raised less than a million. All Lahn's money came from just 3 donors. Just one of those donors lives in state.

Turek did very well on Morning Joe just now. Said all the right things and went after Hinson as a rubber stamper for Trump and the 1% and called out how Iowa is really hurting economically. Compared it to Kansas a few years back where the people are ready for change and a rising genuine populism is there especially in rural areas where the number one word he hears is betrayal due to tariffs.

Hope that the distaste for far right lahn will mobilize indys and blue voters even more than milquetoast Randy would have and push both sand and Turek over the finish line...and the 3 contested congressional races as well.

Gonna have to dig deep to take back Iowa, tho.
I do think there will be no gray in these choices with far right vs moderates...your choice,Iowa!

Lahn didn't even register to vote in Iowa until 2024. Someone explain how a guy who just got here from a state even worse than Iowa can clean up all the messes left by Reynolds?

The story is circulating that Lahn was having an affair with his current wife while married to his first wife.

Was he planning ahead to gain favor with the current President?
Apparently there were questions about him considering running for Kansas Governor at one time.

This guy is, indeed, a possible carpet bagger.

Trump takes his first primary L (pretty stellar endorsement record still) but Iowa democrats lost even worse with this one as Sand is not going to beat Lahn head to head, this is a much worse match up for team blue.

Congrats to Lahn and also Turning Pount USA who went against trump and backed Lahn instead. Charlie Kirk's legacy lives on!

It appears the Feenstra campaign made a calculated decision, as the election favorite, to skip the primary debates.

Came back to bite them in the azz.

Feenstra will undoubtedly be rooting for Rob Sand this November, as that opens up a scenario where he succeeds Grassley.

His sole debate with Scholton was very bad but, thankfully for him, he just needed that Trump thumbs-up photo-op to get the win. Not so much now.

Interesting little upset in a statehouse Democratic primary here in Davenport.

Old crusty and out-of-touch Rep. Ken Croken was absolutely dismantled by a 20-something gay guy named Adam Peters, who is a political newcomer.

Nice to see fresh/younger blood bring some enthusiasm to the Dems around here - but not sure how a more progessive candidate plays in November. Will be interesting to see.
