It’s important that we be #5 (Auburn in first game of Omaha) instead of #6 (UGA or GT). Hopefully the Heels are #5 ahead of Texas.

They just leaked them. We're not in the top 4.
Shouldn’t be a surprise.

Said yesterday we were likely the 5 seed, the committee has always valued RPI over everything. Without a regular season or tournament championship, we were at the mercy of the committee.

I think it’s dumb but ultimately doesn’t matter.

2 years in a row Auburn gets an rpi bump despite 17-18 conference wins.
Last year was far more egregious

Doubt auburn makes it to Omaha too

This was all done so that SEC teams weren’t all of 5-8 with the way they’re doing 2 seeds now. It’s such BS.

Last year was far worse imo, we just got kinda screwed by our acc schedule (uva getting injured, no FSU, FSU losing to Pitt in the acct, clemson and louisville being mediocre to bad) it left a lot off our resume that usually is there. We do have the best series win in the country, and are 3 in DSR, 4 in rpi and KPI. I think we gotta figure out a way to get a semi decent 3rd nonconf series in there though. Le Moyne dragged down some stats and could have been the difference (switch that with something like Mercer or Western Carolina and we’re prolly the 4 anyway)

Look ya''ll
There is still obviously a strong "travel costs" factor
I don;'t have a problem with that

They won the Texas State series, but other than that I think you’re right. Hurts to say, didn’t think Schnall would jump at the first SEC opportunity unless it’s was one of the big 4. But, alas.
You’re right. They won Texas State but lost to ODU and then got beat by Louisiana in their final series and the tourney. Figured Schnall would pull a Gilmore and stay because he can write his own ticket for as long as he wants but sounds like he’s going. They just aren’t playing well and haven’t since the UNC win. Once the word got out about Schnall, the whole atmosphere and attitude changed!

Correct. To the Committee, I would point out:
- Auburn has 8 more losses than UNC.
- Auburn is 5-5 in their last 10; UNC is 8-2.
- Auburn lost 3 series this year; UNC lost one.

And I could add:
- UNC is rated higher in DSR and ELO than Auburn (negating that one spot they are ahead of us in RPI).

Or even:
- Auburn finished SIXTH in their conference; UNC finished SECOND.
But Auburn is in the SEC….

But Auburn is in the SEC….
I mean it is always true in the major sports
I am not a Statistician-but if you get tons of your folks ranked early-their conference losses are all to ranked teams-a win win for all
WVU gets a March Madness bid a couple of years ago with a losing conference record-but all the Big 12 was all ranked
SEC football the same-every year
I reckin people had this complaint about ACC basketball 25 years ago?
