I am not a rules expert, and this is the first game I’ve watched all year, but on the second one that was overturned it seemed like Northwestern kid initiated the contact
The first one I get the rule kind of, but the ball was in the back of the net for a while before her foot maybe touched the crease line.
Nice no call shove to finish the hose job.
This was not a fair game. Plain and clear.
Hard to win at their house when you're not getting any breaks from the women in stripes. Good season ladies.
The ol' eagle eye reffing strategy. Looking for any opportunity to call something against one team.
I remember it well during the 2016 title game where UNC got called for 8 consecutive fouls while Nova assaulted us.

Feel horrible for the girls. Hate blaming the refs but what are those overturned goals?

That was an all timer, UCLA just tackled everyone into the net
The refs should be ashamed, they won’t be, but they should. This kills me wanting to watch this sport- my daughter plays- and I would never believe the offficiating would be this bush league. And the announcers totally ignoring it
I think that UCLA soccer game is the single most heartbreaking UNC defeat I’ve ever been at they were ahead to nothing with 15 minutes to play

Incredible way to ruin the taste of a good game
Scrap the MvM, get better goal tending, come back next year and kick everybody‘a butt. And over the summer burn the NCAA over this officiating.

I don’t know what either player was supposed to do on the overturned goals. Even if it’s the rules, they might need to be revisited lol.

the second one is insane because you go from a good goal to a man down for 2 minutes???
If next year's FF isn't in NW, then they may have a chance. Homecooking was strong in this one.
I was about to say that call that started their run felt exactly like the Villanova title game.
i glad i saw all those Fall sports NCAA tourneys where the Heels consistently gave up goals with 1 literal sec left.

In every other sport, there has to be clear evidence to overturn. Is that not the case in women's lax?
Taylor takes an ill-advised shot late in game instead of holding, she clearly violates the goal circle on the shot, no ref call, no ref review, and UNC cannot call a review with no tO’s left.
we would have had the ball with 2.5 min left down 2 goals. Not ideal, but possible.
Refs blatantly cheated the women out of a win
The announcers acknowledged it every time, but then moved on. That is their job.
Why we throwing the MVM under the bus? UNC had one of the best defenses in the country.
I think we will become harder to play over time as MVM becomes more rare and opponents do not practice it enough.
it also helps us in recruiting elite defenders.
The goals taken off, the contact in the attack right after the woman down ended, the foot in the circle on their goal and then the goalie out of the crease leveling our player… all terrible.
Agree with limit comment on the foot in the circle but the two hits we took on last two offensive possessions… nothing.
Frankly, this loss and field hockey championship game hurt me more than men bball or basketball disappointments last year. I have found non revenue sports so refreshing and escape from bat guano crazy world of mens’a revenue sports with mercenary culture , obscene money, etc (ie -“I gambled on games but it was addiction so I deserve a 7th year”
