It is what it is. GT is an awful matchup for most pitchers but especially for Boaz with all their righties. If our main goal was to win this tournament, he would have pitched yesterday. We were always going to score 10+ against the pitchers Pitt had left.
Relying on Boaz as the third starter will severely handicap what this team can accomplish this postseason
Yup. It will be how our season ends, we will do this in regional or super. Will have no one left to throw. If we don’t win super 2-0, won’t win game three. This was the easiest prediction ever
Does what have to happen? We went 8-2 in game 3s of a series in ACC play IIRC and both losses came when we were going for sweeps. Would you rather save Glauber and lose one of the first two games because of it?

Good thing McDuffie threw 45 pitches yesterday instead of 30 for really no reason at all.

Boaz should have been pulled after he didn’t hustle over after the bunt! He spiraled quick after that. I save McDuffie now!
This is why we aren’t a championship team this year unfortunately. Just don’t have the pitching depth.
Boaz just isn’t it. If he starts any more in the post season we aren’t going very far.

Our staff would love to start Glauber in game 3. That would mean we won the first two games easily. They’re not going to save him when we need to close out a game to do so, though.
If you start 2-0 in a regional, somebody is throwing their 4th starter and deep bullpen arms by time you play again. At that point you have to win with offense.
Dude, before the game started, Boaz’s stats on the year showed what he is. 3-2 6.62 ERA.
This was a worse outing than the last time he faced GT on a Sunday. Saying this was predictable.
What’s the point in pulling Boaz at this point. The beds been made may as well let him get out of the inning.
