I live there and that’s crazy. I mean, we enjoy it and it’s been good to us, but 4th best is crazy.Ankeny named one of the best places to live in U.S.

Affluent 1%er communities tend to get the most rub in these lists.
My theory is lists like this add places that would look at the article. People from big cities won't be clicking in to bask in the glory of a high ranking.
For sure. It’s the 4th best place I’ve lived. I prefer Boston, Iowa city, and my home town in Wisconsin.

I’m sure I’ve probably been to Ankeny at some point, I just didn’t know it was Ankeny. I imagine there’s a crumbl cookie or two there, and a paved mixed-use trail system connecting the soccer complexes with the dog parks.
Ok, I legit looked at the actual list from U.S. News of best places to live and its all just suburbs. Must've been written by boomers for boomers.
Side note: Conde Naste ranked Charleston, SC (where I was born and raised and ultimately moved back to after 2 decades away because of kids and being close to family) as the number 1 city in the world for multiple years in a row. These things are bought and paid for, including Charleston's "ranking."

I think they exist so Northern has something to share and not talk about.
This is true. Same goes for basically everywhere in Iowa other than Iowa City. It is a great place to live on an everyday basis, with a few trips sprinkled in.
