I don't follow on X, but have had some folks comment on her recent posts (people attacking her...her responding...backtracking...etc.). Anyone have a Cliffs Notes? Is this something new?

The one i remember was last fall and she said something stupid pertaining to Charlie Kirk’s death, I emailed the AD and the coach I never did get a response. I all for free speech but be prepared for backlash if you post something controversial, I didnt want her kick off I just wanted clarification on her comments if they were true or not
Saw that a site picked up her story from last August where she was being stalked at the Chicago airport. So the site ran with something from last year

I'm just going to say something about this kid from a teacher/mentor perspective. She needs the team more than the team needs her. I mean that in the most positive sense. Without speculating as to the cause of her publicly known shortcomings, she is a young person who has benefitted from the loving mentorship and example of Coaches Cook and Busboom, and the loving and forgiving culture of the team. Though it still seems to the observer that she is prone to missteps, imagine what life would be like for this young lady were it not for what Nebraska Volleyball provides to her. Its a reassurance. An accountability. A safe harbor. Reminds me very much of LP. We still could've won the Natty in 95 by 40+ points. Didn't need LP. He needed NU. Yes, it didn't stop the self-sabotage and criminal actions. It did absolutely decelerate those things for long enough that he had every opportunity to break the cycle. NU football did not contain Scottie Baldwin's mental illness, but it became a vehicle to identify it and thus he was given all available help.
I can't predict the next triumph or trial for this young lady, but I am damn sure thankful that she has the resources of NU and the gift of those relationships. NU can't ensure her success, but NU is everything that she needs to be successful.

She wants it both ways IMO .she wants to put out anything she wants. But then she crawls into a corner and cries and bitches when people respond in a negative way or criticize her . I fell terrible for her that she lost her dad at an early age. Others have and seem to be all right. I think her main issue she is extremely immature.

People, she’s what 20 or 21? We are all indoctrinated by the media we consume everyday. If you watch left leaning propaganda you’ll obviously lean left and vice versa as well. With youth comes a lot of ignorance that only goes away through living life. I hope she grows up in the next few years because volleyball won’t last forever.

I’m a huge Charlie Kirk fan and was deeply sad. Thought it was in bad taste when people cheered and viewed them as ignorant to his overall message.

I read it … but all you would be asking for was her to say she didn’t mean it. Let’s say she clarified and explicitly said she’s glad he died. Would you have been fine with that and still all for free speech.
Not really . If I post something and you blast me I am going to blast you back I am not going to wine and cry about and claim mental health issues as many as these athletes do when the get criticized.

These weird old guys that sit around balling up their fists because some young hot girl that "represents" a team that they only started caring about, BECAUSE of her, get all worked up.
That’s her opinion and I would respect it, i wouldn’t have liked it, hell I stuck up for her when she struggled in the national championship game against Texas and fans blasted her.

Good question, I guess had she actually would have posted negative comments about Charlie I would have lost all respect for her and wouldn’t support her. If a person is right or left getting killed for expressing your opinion is flat out wrong and people celebrating it is morally wrong. You never want to see a political figure or religious person assassinated. I never cared for certain political figures but I never hoped someone would kill them. I figured God would judge them not for me to do that
Both of these people have profound mental illness. Success always gets in the way of making uncomfortable changes because the stability and consistency of "winning" masks A LOT of problems. Nobody cares about either of these people once they stop winning and providing entertainment and ego for the fans, fans are already making calculations about how necessary they are, even if they are generational talents. There are millions of people like Murray and Phillips. She does have a chance to get lots of therapy, medication, support and I hope she gets it, but it won't happen until she hits rock bottom. "Forgiving" these players while still taking from them just reinforces the idea that they are only good for one thing, and once that thing is gone the party is over. Benching both of them permanently while still providing whatever support they need would be the unconditional love they need...but then they quit and transfer and ultimately fail regardless.
Free speech doesn't apply to employment. College athletes are employees now. Murray celebrated Charlie Kirk's assassination. She should have been fired. But, because she is a great volleyball player, she gets a pass.
Murray is toxic. Her problems have only just begun. Oh sure, she can make 20k a year playing professional volleyball, but other than that, she has a rough road ahead trying to fit into any job where you have to get along with people. Her bullying a teammate on X, her reaction to the Kirk murder, all show a toxic trait that will bite her in the backside later on in life. I can not wait until she is done here and moves on.
