But if Game 2 gets delayed to a start where you are finishing at 1am. Or if Game 1 gets finished Friday but Game 2 gets postponed fo create a Day 2 doubleheader, that’s where playing early really provides a huge advantage.

You get additional rest before the 2nd game on Saturday plus it reduces the potential for delays/minimized rest before game 2 weather issues. It is inconvenient for the fans, but the goal is to win the regional
