Just a few posts above I said if i lived in Kentucky I would vote for Massie. I also noted that this ladies accusations are very suspicious.

Yeah but here is the rub. The Hatch Act might categorize presidential appointee as "less restrictive" , DoD Directives do not. Link: DoDD 1442.11 Political Activity Rules for DoD Political Appointees puts presidential appointees in the "further restricted" category.

I don't like it. Period. But it's made worse in my eyes in so far that there is a a DoDD in effect that says "no" to what he's doing. Look I get it. Different rules for civilians and uniformed military.. all good. No problem. BUT if the the Secretary wanted to do what he is doing, the DoDD should be recinded or ammended as opposed ot just saying, "fukkit i'll do what i want" Its an academic point, because Hegseth's signature would be at the bottom of a ammendment or recisiion but still.
