i don't have the numbers in front of me but i'd bet that our power numbers are well below last year's. ferrin likes to compare to the '24 team, but even if you put that aside i think this team has shown less power than most of Forbes'. obviously it hasn't stopped them from being very good, and probably if Gallaher has another May surge the numbers will end up looking closer.
Again, Lynch doesn’t capitalize on momentum. He did this in his start vs GT.

Mike and Gabby need to learn that sometimes less is more. When you start comparing Lynch to Jake Knapp you’re just talking too much.
Thus the reason we hate State fans so much. They have no awareness in situations like this.

Flip side is he throws Head a FB at 100 on his pitch count and misses it's 10-5. He has to get that slider found for future starts.

Not the outing Ryan would've wanted, or Forbes but on the brighter side, the fact that most of his hits were on ground balls is a bright spot. Those all give his defense a chance to work there
That kind of pitch call has been my issue since Fox arrived in Chapel Hill in 99.
Unless a non usual suspect steps up and pitches better than they have all year, we’re gonna need AT LEAST 15 runs to win this one. Hate state but they can wear out pitchers with their plate disciple and bat control.

That’s what we’re going to need at this point. With the way things are going, 10 runs might not be enough, which is crazy to say. I’m way too nervous.
The 4 walks in less than 4 innings was what made it look worse.
