Yeah my post on that other thread, about being able to put the bunts where it has to go… that’s why we don’t do it.

That wasn't a great bunt.
The bunt has to go down the first base line, even without the 3rd baseman crashing… if you go down the 3rd baseline it has to be down the line

I hadn’t gotten there yet. I guess if you take both both positions, you can claim you’re right whether it works or not.
State goes from great defense to a bit shaky, goes for the double play, does not get the pick at first, ball goes errant and Hynek takes second while Nicholson goes home

You can’t pinch run your first baseman in the 8th up 3 because of stuff like what just happened to let us score.
I mean, runners on first and second, no outs....you have screamed why don't they bunt all year long without regard to who's hitting, who's on etc. If they would have grounded into a DP there......
I actually agree with you on the deal with Paulsen that it's different, but I'm not a sac bunt proponent like you've been all year at every turn......all the time.
IMO the bunt was the right call there, but they should have pinch ran for Paulsen. Howe can play first. If Hargett is the pinch runner he is safe.

Bunt was the right call with Hargett running for Paulsen. I clearly stated after I said bunt, that I didn’t like it with him still on second.
Crediting him with 2 drops is kinda harsh. That first one was a tough play. That second one was absolutely his fault
Yeah, not sure I want Howe anywhere on the field at this moment. Not his night out there. lol
Rather than put Howe on first with so much baseball left, I would have preferred to let him hit away. He's looked good at the plate lately, including tonight.
I get it you don’t want to take Paulsen off first because he’s a plus defender. It’s not like Howe is terrible over there. It comes down to what is more important. The extra run or potentially saving the run.
