Our bye week is between the Bama and LSU games, FWIW.

Ironically I have kinda viewed Bama as maybe his last possible lifeline to get the fan base behind him. The first time we’ll play Bama post-Saban, and it’s at home, with Bama being pretty human the last couple of years, and maybe DeBoer on the hot seat too.

I will say sell, with the caveat being if he starts 1-4 he’s done. I think he will make it to the Bama game at a minimum.

If you’re gonna fire him at 1-4 you might as well fire him at 1-3 cause I’ve seen the Alabama movie…

First 4 games:
ULM
@ Minnesota
@ South Carolina
Missouri
Second 4 games:
Alabama
@ LSU
Oklahoma
@ Texas
If we start 1-3, we're all but guaranteed to start 1-7. If that happens, Lebby has to go at some point during that stretch.

I see 2-2 in the first 4. Then what?

He doesn’t need 7 wins. 6 and he’s safe. I think he survives with 5. But even then he really has to start at least 2-2. Which means a significant early upset.
Our Athletic Department needs for him to win 6-7 to survive. We need some damned stability in the football program which in turn stabilizes the Athletic Department. I just do not see a path to 6-7 wins without starting 3-1.

All I see is 8-0. The entire AD should be fired if that doesn't happen.

I’m not saying what should happen. I’m saying what I think will. Even 5 wins requires 3 upsets. I’m pretty sure we’ll get a couple of upsets. But 3? Heck. Even if we start 3-1 that’s 2 upsets already & you need 2-3 more to get to 6-7 wins.

I have said it many times. And my man, Bulldoghair, or it might be his alter ego argued with me about whether the second row of four is not as good as we think in terms of the teams we play. I think he went team by team, if I remember correctly. But come on that October is rough man. I can very easily see that being 0-4

Why would you keep him with 5 or 6 wins? That would show little to no improvement over last year. How many years does he get to show us he can win?

1-4 to start the season...... FIRED
Looking like a 2-3 win season. That should mean FIRED even in season 1 or 2.

Seems like he's Moorhead's illegitimate son more than a football coach. Neither can adjust and both un willing to.

Don't forget but with constant doopey face on the sideline.

He doesn’t survive 5 wins. 6 is 60/40 he’s let go. 7 and he’s back for sure

I think we win the first four. And are 4-0 headed to Alabama. I have said it for months now but peope of this board just like last year are underestimating our talent. Add in the upgrades at coaching (hell majority of yall posting in this thread couldn’t name the new coaches) and we will have every opportunity to win 7 games and potentially more.

Can’t name assistant coaches? Shoot, I don’t even know who the players are anymore

Or maybe I have been to practice and been in the seal instead of sitting on my coach getting drunk in rankin county like yourself… ever thought about that big guy?
I have posted repeatedly that he has to win 7 and if he doesn’t we move on. But I do see the talent improvement and the coaching staff upgrades. You on the other hand have dug your heels in and no matter what Selmon does or Lebby does, or for that matter anything Mississippi state does your gonna be on the opposite side of it. You are the worse type of fan. You don’t support the school. You don’t go to games. You don’t and won’t even donate money. So keep sitting on your couch in 047 and eating Pringle’s drinking your Benchmark.

You boomer types are weird. Seem to always resort to this sort of thing. It's an anonymous message board, unless you are Bo Bounds or Charlie, nobody knows or cares who you are and what you do. Stick to the point and quit trying to shame folks with crap you know nothing about.

I'm just trying to help you. You look like a dipshlt trying to talk about how much folks donate. The only thing worse is @paindonthurt trying to make internet bets about everything.

I endorse the DawgatAuburn "If he drops below .500 at any point this season, fire him" plan.
You're going to see in every "when should we fire Lebby" thread this offseason. I think this is at least the third time, maybe fourth already. I'm betting it gets to at least 10 threads on the same topic.

In my real life conversations, most people think Minnesota is an easy win. They were 7-0 at home last year - that will be a test.

South Carolina and Mizzou are our winnable SEC games, but I don't see it. This is a 2-10 team that might go 3-9.

Well I would have never hired him in the first place, would have fired him after season 1 & would have fired him after season 2. But I don’t make those decisions. And Selmons not going to fire his first big hire if he wins 6 games.Wayne if he wins 5 but even then doubtful.

Auburn might be winnable. Maybe Vandy without Pavia. But October is going to be BRUTAL. I'm hoping the Cubs have my attention deep into the fall.

They are 45 in Bill Connelly's power ratings and we are 52. His S&P stuff is about the best preseason indicator I've seen over the years. South Carolina is 24.

That said, our rating is 3.9, Minnesota's is 5.2, South Carolina's is 12.1. By contrast #1 is Ohio State is 31.8. Definitely a parabolic effect going on, so can we pull off those games? Sure. But chances are better we'll split them or lose both.

I don't think there's any question, and the Emm Stake way, that we'll just trudge along doing just enough. We'll beat Minnesota but lose to SC, thus he's not fired. We'll probably play a few of the next 4 close, then end up beating Auburn and Ole Miss and we will give him a 20 year extension.

2027 he goes 3-9. Hopefully Sappy Salmon is gone by then.

Took a look at those rankings and compared to our schedule. Yikes. Makes my 4-8 prediction look really optimistic.
