Nah OP don’t buy into this stuff. Clickbait. NBA GMs ain’t taking Moreno ahead of JQ. Ain’t happening.
You wouldn’t think but him being so athletically gifted I could see it with his ridiculously bad offensive game. They do value big L’s that can play defense though. He can definitely be a wing/Forward defending monster.

The only thing that worries me is that the NBA drafts mainly on potential. If they think Moreno has a lot of potential, they'll take him higher than we think. Obviously we really need him. I think he's going to have a breakout season.

Nah, clickbait nonsense. Moreno has slightly above average passing vision and projects to become a more effective shooter thanks to some finesse and he has good size. He’s a good but not elite rebounder and shot blocker. That’s about it, there’s nothing that screams GUARANTEED FIRST ROUNDER here — not yet. Also, JQ is raw offensively but he will be effective in the NBA due to the spacing and transition opportunities. JQ has top 5-10 talent — the injuries are the concern. Late first round is a great place to take high risk, high reward guys. That’s JQ, not Moreno. Pure clickbait garbage.

That’s actually WHY I’m 100% confident he will be back. He has a pretty reasonably high floor but low ceiling. I don’t think he will ever be able to guard in space and that’s a death sentence in the modern NBA.

I agree, the Big market is weak this year especially for USA bigs so I could see a team take a flyer on him. His best bet would be to return for two more years and refine his game. He could be a legit first rounder one day for sure.

Moreno is back at UK. Historically, these mock drafts are an avenue for fans to over react and do not account for the international pool holistically nor the built in guarantees that agents are promised that go unrealized to fans behind closed doors. The Knicks workout was a personal need request and did not go great. The true test is the combine next week, but I don't expect that will move the needle any further. The NIL draw will be greater than any bench NBA opportunities.

He can’t jump, but what if he develops more explosiveness
He hasn’t shown the ability to shoot, but what if he develops that skill
He has no post moves, but what if he develops some
He’s not a great natural shot blocker, but what if he figures that out
I don’t see how any team could draft him in the first round based on a bunch of what ifs

I agree with most of that. He developed a good post hook and he was a good shot blocker. Other than that I think you nailed my sentiments perfectly.

If he just wants money, then, go for it. If he wants to get to the NBA and have a chance, stay in college, get all the playing time you can AND here's the most important part, get stronger. He needs to get stronger or he will forever be a "dunker spot" player. He offers no spacing for guards because he hasn't shown enough that he can effectively step away from the rim to score. That can work in college. It's not going to give him a long NBA career.

Talent wise and potential hrs not ahead of JQ that’s what scouts look at the long potential
JQ is a talented kid but I find it difficult to believe that he couldn’t have played at the end of last season. The sequence of events leading up to him sitting out is very suspicious. If I were an NBA GM I would consider that about him before I would take a chance on drafting him.

I would take Moreno over him if I were a GM, but I’m not and am not even close to being qualified to scout players lol 😂

If a guy like Haugh returns again now twice, we shouldn’t ever lose Moreno.

He doesn't move his feet well enough in space on defense, gets beat too easily, can that get better? Maybe, I really don't know?
