No. They are preventing players from doing outside 3rd party endorsement deals using licensed UK logos, images, media, and intellectual property. Which is a completely different thing. You can still do outside deals (Trent Noah has multiple), but JMI has to give you permission (and gets a slice) if you want to wear UK gear doing it or branding doing it. Think like those random commercials you see where a well known athlete is wearing some generic non team affiliated jersey to sling Icy Hot, Converse shoes or a random sports drink. The company avoids paying licensing fees by not showing the team or any licensed branding. This doesn't violate the Kentucky NIL law, it uses skirts it via technicality and loophole. It makes it restrictive in the sense that a large part of the UK brand is the licensed logos, fonts, images, etc. On the flip side, that money is outside of BBNILSUITE, so UK/JMI can't promise you a dollar amount from an outside source. You and your camp would have to work that out on your own. JMI is also by the book and compliant, meaning that every dollar goes through the NCAA NIL site for approval and value/money is shown what/where it comes from and how it will be earned (appearance fees, autograph signings, clinics, billboards, commercials, promotional advertisements, etc). This differs from most collectives just throwing a number at a player and figuring the rest out later. UK won't risk the recruiting violations, even though no one is regulating this stuff closely anymore.
