Sure sounds like a personal attack by Eli on the Gov.

These listening post exercises Eli references lately can be **** exercises simply to mitigate legal risk and accountability. In other words save Eli *** from fiduciary risk (law suits) from making wrong hires or not following appropriate legal processes.

But add this to the growing list of concerns, this prior season and off season, regarding UK administrative and basketball leadership.

Look. I think Capilouto has done some amazing thigs for UK. Healthcare took a hyper leap under his leadership. He was brought in specifically for that and he has delivered in spades. He created the top healthcare system in the state. for 10 years running. I think the Barnhart thing was a huge mistake. But my guess is that he does not focus on athletics at all. He inherited Barnhart. Barnhart has always been the issue. Not the president. As for the Governor.....he is not the sharpest tool in the shed. I have zero respect for his leadership ability. He is nothing but a figure head and a partisan. He has done nothing to improve Kentucky. He is a talker and not a doer. So I will side with the UK president everyday and twice on Sunday. Even with the Barnhart issues.
Yes, I am sure Eli has done those things and are great for the university. However, he was the sole person who gave Mitch the 2mil 2 year extension for doing nothing. That is corruption.
Offering Mitch Barnhart a $1 mil/year compensation package for nothing is not a good idea, Eli. You’re just mad that your plan didn’t work.

I highly doubt Andy would like anyone auditing the state, which is actually the people’s money. Not to stray too far off the rails but we all know government lib and pub blows money. All the things getting caught and brought to light in other states, Andy seems mighty confident he can stir a fuss and someone peek into what Frankfort is doing without finding something

That escalated quickly.
He's totally stiff necked and unwilling to improve. He's also 200 years old. Time to move on and get some fresh, younger perspectives in control at UK.
I don't really hate the players and the coach they just aren't UK caliber though. I've always hated Mitch and Eli nothing has changed there they've been holding our program down for years. BTW if you don't like what I post just skip over it or block me. I love it when people like you like tell people how they can be a fan...
A very respected federal judge and UK law grad is named Dean of the law school and Beshear goes on the political attack because the judge is not a woke liberal. The governor tosses in the Mitch contract to get a portion of UK fans riled up. This is a fabricated story and people here are the rubes it was meant to stir.

UK is very much a good ol' boys network. The Admin draw enormous salaries, while the education is very stagnant and not improving. The staff get minuscule raises. UK's standing in college rankings is extremely poor considering it's the flagship university. There is no accountability on anything. Major decisions are done under the table. Mitch's new gig was originally supposed to be paid from the general fund, which caused an outcry. Now he will just leave. They really need a clean sweep.
I totally agree and it's awful strange that the governor speaks on the situation about Mitch's comfy job and the next day Mitch gives it up. There definitely isn't nothing strange about a guy giving a 1million a year gig up because the governor basically calls out the corruption.
A majority of faculty disagreed with his appointment for various reasons including leadership, which is critical to the responsibilities of a dean. Progression to appointment at that point of contention shouldn't occur unless there is outstanding reasoning, which there was not, according to what I could find.
I agree it was at least partly politically motivated, but I believe the statement signals that the state will be watching how things are done from here on out. Are boards acknowledged? Are the proper channels and bylaws in place and being followed? The appointment of the dean and MB's golden parachute show a concerning lack of input from the faculty and discretion from established leadership when it comes to hiring and creating positions.
Just my 2¢ as someone who deals with **** like this for breakfast. Faculty getting the shaft is nothing new. Legitimate complaints getting silenced is commonplace. Glaring holes getting shelved is another Tuesday.
I think you are wrong on enrollment being Stagnant. While other institutions are facing declining enrollment UK is actually growing .

For the most part, the coach, players (as a group), the AD and the president......are objectively bad. The guy you're replying to sounds more in touch with reality than you do.
Beshear has been a great governor. He has always worked without having a majority in the House or Senate. At least he has been able to somewhat neutralize the knuckle dragging republican and MAGA members of the legislature. If you really want to look for ignorance, take a peak at the Ky. senate leadership.

I think whether you love or hate Beshear, he's right about the state of UK at the moment. The Law school, the athletic department, the whole university is under a lot of issues right now, and it's time for Capilouto to retire.
This is the real motive of Andy. He’s running for president and is burnishing his liberal credentials.
