Looks like portal updates are over for today. The latest updated #s from Talia's tracker are:

Off-the-Board
Available
Total
DNP (Did not play)
19
32
51
PPG >=0
722
755
1477
Totals
741
787
1528

Btw, her tracker says 1,569 total players in the portal which she only has 1,528 listed. She has only added ~25 players since the portal closed so I'd have to guess her 1,569 is not correct or else why the missing 41 are not listed yet?

Tomorrow we'll likely cross under the 50% available mark. There are still 787 available and not 1,000 according to Talia's tracker.

Breakdown of Available Players:
PPG
Remaining # of Portal Players

I do not think that there is any harm in being a bit excited generally. I certainly do not begrudge Wisconsin folk having their share of excitement.
Wisconsin folks have many reasons to be excited. Besides Deal and Mallegni, they signed a belgium PG with 17 PPG and 5 APG and a 6-3 center with 19 PPG and 10 RPG. They got one of the top class on the Portal.

With only the existing committed players, ESPN already has us as a 2 seed in their initial bracketology. Give me a min to do the math but…hmmm….lets see, that would make us a Top 8 program next year. So add ESPN to the tally for “being all wrong”. I guess Omaha’s chicken-little ******** outsmarted all of us

But seriously, what is wrong with that guy? His petty crash outs and weird dick-measuring today makes Anon look like a model poster. He is officially blocked

Now, I would check the excitement a little bit. If we should be so excited about getting Faison, what do you think the Wisconsin folks are reacting to getting Deal?
Why are you making that comparison? We swapped Deal for Carnegie and should be ECSTATIC about that trade. Hell Whiting is likely an improvement over Deal, let alone Mallegni

For the record I would characterize it as a combination of an educated guess based on multiple facts/clues, reading between the lines and just generally stating the obvious (relatively soon is any time before the team members begin arriving in early June which is in about 5 weeks).

I have previously related it to reading tea leaves in a crystal ball. It’s not really scientific, but it’s also not totally random either. There is probably some hope bias also (I want to believe). 😎
So it’s not based on anything…got it

Love the enthusiasm though, let’s hope you’re right!

I blocked him several weeks ago. The world is a better place without his negative vibes.

I wondered what next year's team would literally look like, so I made a visual. I'm not sure what Faison's official position will be. Georgia listed her as a guard. I used wing as her label. I am concerned if we sign one more player. Do I make a 5 x 2 grid or 2 x 5? I am hoping for an even dozen, so I can go four across. I have so many big decisions to make in my life.

I mean at some point they have to get a little better don't they? We've beaten them 32 times and 16 years in a row? That's just ridiculous. The rest of the league is going to have to continue to try and get better. With the B1G basically dominating almost all sports now and having all the money, it's not going to be easy for us to stay where we are.

I'm really pleased with the ladies they've brought in, but I'd remind people the Deal that plays the next year or so at Wisconsin may very well not be the player we saw. I'd wait to see what she looks like in their system. I think she was not a good fit with what Jan was doing with the 2 post offense, and may thrive in a new system. We'll see, but I thinking she won't be the poor player many here are projecting her to be.

I agree with Kc. I believe of the perimeter players we had last year she had the potential to be the strongest getting into the paint, either off the dribble or cutting, and creating a shot. Not much opportunity in a 3 out offense like we ran. Not saying Wisconsin will see this but much more potential for her in a more wide open 5 out or 4 out offense. Many of us think she is too slow but time will tell. I think it was a good move for her unless we are going to go to a more open 4 out offense, and maybe still.

Sort of. It’s not not based on anything but it is based on something nebulous. It’s a gut feeling based on a comprehensive objective analysis of multiple data factors. A crystal ball, tea leaves and perhaps a little wishful thinking (with a grain of salt). 😎

Enthusiasm is free and doesn’t hurt.

All the best to her.
I wanted her to succeed here, but sometimes you just fit better in a different system that plays to your strengths.
Hawk ladies will be fine. Portal has been more than generous. Carroll would be a nice last piece.

Compared to last season's team we're the same or better at the 1, MUCH BETTER at the 2, the same or better at the 3, the same or better at the 5, and a big question mark at the 4. It would be a perfect world if Woliczko were already much better than Hannah in her freshman year, but there's no way to know if she will be. Amari Whiting as the sixth player coming off the bench could also be better or much better than Deal. Houston would be the same or better as 7th player, Hays would be the same or better as 8th player. The team would be perfect add three more players (12 players): one more PG who could play 10-15 minutes coming off the bench, a 6-0 or 6-1 wing with a great 3-point shot, and a 6-3 or 6-4 PF/C as a bench option in case Woliczko or Hays underperform. We're doing very well, but we can do even better. We're almost there.

Deal will be fine, will be better, and mostly from experience rather than system. Just watching the USC game again and you can easily see why she was likely told they were bringing in talent, so Deal did what she had to do to play the minutes she hopes for.

I fully expect the Iowa guard court to be right in her grill when she has the ball. The "system" won't matter at that moment.

Na, just a Swarm member and Iowa fan for 50 years sick of petty, bitchy, uniformed people with self-esteem issues that need someone to agree with their 25 daily posts otherwise one is a "troll" like girls playing with dolls. About 10 or so of you need to get a life. I come on here to try to get information updates and instead I have to defend any unbiased comment I made to a bunch of sissy girls with too small of underwear.

Thanks to all of you, I am running up my post count so I can graduate to like ALL Conference, or First Team, or something soon. I am just a bench guy now. I am a pledge in the butt patting Frat house. Otherwise I have to wait like 10 more years till I can't read and think. Wait a minute..... is that it here?
You OK? Jeesus.
