We have some good players on this team but it is constructed wrong. We no longer get to say just 10% of the season, wait until July.

There really has not been a worse GM in MLB since trade deadline of last year. This guy has unlimited pockets but F's up everything. Or, maybe he doesn't and it is Cohen who just doesnt really care anymore.

If I was Cohen- I see last year- one of the best attendance years we can remember. Which means my fans loved the team- and all we needed to do was strengthen the pitching and we walk into the playoffs.

GM F-d that up but fans kept coming. It wasn't for just Soto, Lindor or Alonso but the three of them together.

And unless you head is in the sand- we also know that Stearns really does want Soto or Lindor either.

Stearns is 100% becoming Ash.

No one wants to spend money to watch this team- You almost got us to come out every 5 days for McLean but we dont even do that because we know he will go 5 innings untouchable- maybe give up 2 runs and he will lose.

Get me a GM/President of Operations that can build a winning team, create star power keep and build fans and make us money. Cohen has to look at Stearns and just say- "figure this crap out"

There is such a part of me now that just wants to see the worse team we ever had. And I say that because I have been a crazy fan for well over 50 years. This is actually worse than the Wilpons.

Austin Slater has been in the majors for a decade and I have no recollection of him at all. Either I just had a senior decade, or Slater has had a meh career. Or maybe both.

Who would have thought that at this point in the season the Mets and the Phillies would be tied with the worst record in MLB ?

Yes, unless it’s one of the top picks
I'm getting very suspicious of the "fantastic" minor league system we have. All these minor products come up and are mediocre or less major league guys. You can name them. Maybe Jet Williams can save the franchise...ooof!

Is this another move around the margins by Stearns? He attempts to be cheap and hope to strike lightning in a bottle.
Well, he does have a lifetime .717 OPS. That pretty much makes him qualified to bat 4th on our team.

there is no way anyone can still believe in Stearns to run the show.
Let him be in charge of minor league development and there you go.
BTW- with Stearns, if, big if, he fires Mendoza mid season- zero chance he hires Beltran. Unless Cohen overrules him.

Run prevention:
Overall defensive metrics 2026: 15th as a team
Overall defensive metrics 2025: 19th as a team

You blow up a team for what? All this talk about improving the defense, yet they're still in the same neighborhood. Meanwhile, you traded an offense (2025) that was in the top 1/3 for most offensive categories for an unit that is 28th or worst in just about every category. Stearns has the balls to sit there and speak with a straight face knowing he's lying.

Signed
David "Baghdad Bob" Stearns

No, YOU name them. You're the one making the assertion. Back it up.

I'llgive you Alvarez if he can sta, YOU name them. You're the one making the assertion. Back it up.
Mauricio, Baty, Vientos, Benge. Any All Stars? Much less every day impact players. I'll give you Alvarez if he can stay healthy . Look, I've been a Mets fan since 1962 and have lived and died with them, but the mismanagement of the roster is maddening. I don't see the pipeline producing any Stawberrys or Wrights, do you?

Mauricio, Baty, and Vientos constitute one discussion. I agree I don't see any all stars there. I think Baty will have a solid career, Vientos a little less so. Not sold on Mauricio as anything more than a fringe journeyman.

HOWEVER, those guys are not reflective of the current minor league system. That was a different regime. Today we are talking about guys like Benge, Ewing, Reimer, Clifford, and Morabito. (Would be nice if we could include Williams and Gilbert in that list, but c'est la vie.) Any Strawberrys or Wrights in that group? I have no idea. But it should be fun to watch.

I hope you're right. I've always loved following the minor league players ( grew up in Jersey City when the Havana Sugar Kings moved in after leaving Cuba and went to every game) I saw a bunch of the players you mentioned last year as Binghamton played Somerset. Morabito impressed but a small sample size.

I agree. Very overrated farm system that doesn’t produce enough productive players.

All the current players ( Alvarez / Benge / Mauricio / Baty) are meh with exception being MCLean.

Of current farm players - I only see Pena becoming a possible star and he is years away !

Oranization continues to under produce !

I also think fences need to be brought in once again at Citifield .
