It’s funny ppl think rhythm is all about scoring you tell the ppl that’s actually played or coached bball from the chair watchers
Point me to one. What was your favorite Kam Williams game? They only look at numbers. They watched the games and know exactly what you're talking about, but they are in their miserable bubble and when they're in that bubble, they refuse to admit anything positive ever happened.
If they watched the games and didn't see how good Kam was getting before he broke his foot, you can't help them, they don't want to he helped. Let them be miserable.
Kam does nothing in the paint. He doesn't rebound and avoids contact. His game is predicated on floating around on the perimeter and playing marginal defense.Dude..."finding his rhythm"? That's the month of January up until his injury. I don't get the narratives we try to spread on here. I don't think Kam is necessarily "bad"...but to say these six games make him not a question mark to be a VERY KEY piece on what needs to be a good team. How do those games make him NOT a question mark?

It was one game. One. He has at least a half dozen games against REALLY FREAKING BAD teams...like KenPom 250+ bad teams...where he was horrible in his conference. That doesn't mean he will be horrible, but surely you can see where one damned game doesn't erase a question mark? For a dude that's supposed to be a starter and a leading scorer? I know if you're from SWMO you know hoops better than that.
Here's what you simpletons can't understand...most of us DGAF about Mark Pope. I want UK to be extremely successful. IDGAF who the coach is, as long as it could be that. It could be Clappy the Clown for all I care, as long as he gets the job done. The only "seesaw" fans I see are the ones that try to rationalize the BS this is currently going on because they have some freaking infatuation with Pope and this perceived legacy. They're also the same ones that fawn over Trent and Travis.Yeah, these guys can't figure out wtf they want.
They want Pope fired, but then they get mad when he doesn't land every top player in the portal.
They obviously don't understand what happens if Pope has a great roster and he wins just enough games next year. Nobody is firing a coach that goes to 2 sweet 16's in 3 years.
These seesaw fans need to figure out what it is they actually want.
You said it correctly, if he doesn't get good players and fails to hit the standard next year, he's out. I don't see the issue. Just relax and let it play out.
100% rightThey only look at numbers. They watched the games and know exactly what you're talking about, but they are in their miserable bubble and when they're in that bubble, they refuse to admit anything positive ever happened.

I wasted a lot of time and good bourbon just to get mad.man i wish i hadn't. "bub".
what a miserable season it was
You're comparing players that started for D1 teams to people that couldn't start at Asbury collegeMight wanna educate yourself on the latest signing and the two "players" visiting Friday.
That's fine but with how limited the roster looks, Kam is gonna be like the 3rd or 4th best guy. He will need to score and score consistently. It’s funny ppl think rhythm is all about scoring you tell the ppl that’s actually played or coached bball from the chair watchers
Lol. I get what you're trying to say...but the precedent you are using is one of the 50 greatest basketball players the world has ever seen.Because Barkley was absolutely amazing and was undersized for his position. Not saying the kid IS good. I’m saying there is precedent for not writing him off.
Couldn't agree more. Pope doesn't have the equity that OTSs title bought him. He also didn't have OTSs resume prior to getting the job, but I digress.I can agree with this.
I didn’t like the hire from the beginning but bought in because that was the only choice.
One good thing, if we can call it that, is Pope doesn’t have near the runway Tubby did. Tubby winning the title year one extended his runway by a lot. (I should add that 3 of Tubby’s last five years (03-05) were his three best record wise but fell short in March. The last two were dreadful. Last year reminded me of his last two teams - some good wins, some blowout losses and it being obvious other top teams were way more talented.)
Assuming Pope fails and is replaced, I never want to hire an alum again unless that alum is a guaranteed Pat Riley in his prime type.
I also agree with you that I’d rather have a prick who wins than Ned Flanders with a whistle who is only OK. The AD hire needs to come from outside.
Sucky is sucky man. If you can't cut it, it doesn't matter by how much you can't cut it.You're comparing players that started for D1 teams to people that couldn't start at Asbury college
Educate yourself
I played at a pretty high level and have coached at a pretty decent HS level for quite some time. What you see as rhythm is the ebbs and flows of a Mark Pope coached team. His teams are wildly inconsistent. That's his consistency. You're choosing to believe Kam had a direct effect on that while choosing to ignore the numbers put in front of you (not just offense, btw). That's a you thing, not an everyone else thing. It’s funny ppl think rhythm is all about scoring you tell the ppl that’s actually played or coached bball from the chair watchers
To me Hurley and Oats wanting him is the biggest reason for optimism on Wilkins.Kam is a 3&D guy…you expecting him to be the leading scorer then yeah you need lower expectations and he’s a question mark but you can’t deny that’s when the team actually started to look like a team right before he got injured ..it’s more to the game than just scoring.
What Wilkins did did vs UConn & Hurley in a big setting tells me he’s not scared of the big stage and tells me enough that he can produce against SEC comp considering Hurley more than likely had Wilkins as the #1 threat on scouting report. You can have him as a question mark but I really like Wilkins …6’5 and plays at his pace he will be more than ready to produce.
First of all that’s where Pope failed in season 2 is he didn’t recruit players to fit the zoom action…that was the starting failure right there. Kam fit that style of offense more so than the offense pope tried to install this past seasonI played at a pretty high level and have coached at a pretty decent HS level for quite some time. You're an idiot. Let me guess, your sources say he is the next LeBron.Yep, he is a slightly more skilled Almonor. He will be a 9 and 7 type guy for us who will make the occasional 3. We will need that.
Dude doesn't know hoops at all. He's the moron that posted that Donovan got fired by the Bulls when he clearly was not fired.Dude..."finding his rhythm"? Okay, do you want him fired, or not?bc his recruiting failings are embarrassing the program on a national level right now. it's bigger than Pope.
maybe by "finding his rhythm" they mean he's learning how to tango or somethingDude doesn't know hoops at all. He's the moron that posted that Donovan got fired by the Bulls when he clearly was not fired.
lol ok that's a weird mindset to have on a message boardOkay, do you want him fired, or not?
If you want him fired, then you should be elated when he "wiff's". Instead, everyone gets upset and pisses themselves.
Just let it play out.
It's a message board. What else is there to talk about except what is going on in the off season? Things aren't going well so far, so obviously people are going to talk about it. This isn't rocket science. I know you like to act all high and mighty and self righteous like you're above it all. We get it. You whine every day how you're tired of the whining.Cool. If that happens, we will likely will suck and Pope will be fired.
That’s why I’m not losing my mind on April 22. Outcome is fine either way.
If we’re bad, new coach. If we’re not, we’re not.
Is this where I am supposed to kick and scream and throw a tantrum over something I have no control over?
Oh did your lil heart get hurt by that? Poor thingDude doesn't know hoops at all. He's the moron that posted that Donovan got fired by the Bulls when he clearly was not fired.
He was pretty good on getting into passing lanes but his on ball defense was pretty bad. And the lack of ball handling really hurt our offensive movement. Wilkins is better than Chandler in that area which will help but KW has to improve his dribble to be anywhere near what people are claiming on here.![]()

The 2025-26 NCAAM season stats per game for Kam Williams of the Kentucky Wildcats on ESPN. Includes full stats, per opponent, for regular and postseason.www.espn.com
He wasn’t rebounding, getting assists, blocks or defending against decent teams
No, you might want to realize that BCG was recruiting Zollo and Euton to be starters, Pope obviously isn't recruiting these guys to be starters. If he does, then you should be happy, because he will be fired.Might wanna educate yourself on the latest signing and the two "players" visiting Friday.
Basketball terms something you obviously don’t know much aboutmaybe by "finding his rhythm" they mean he's learning how to tango or something
Tennessee and Texas. He got hurt in the Texas game, but he was a lot more assertive in both those games.Point me to one. What was your favorite Kam Williams game?
You don't know a damn thing about ball. You're the same stupid idiot that posted that Donovan was fired. And when you were called out on it by multiple posters, you still didn't correct it. "Finding rhythm"Yeah aight bub…tells me you didn’t watch games
You really are butt hurt over that Billy D post …grow a pair softyYou don't know a damn thing about ball. You're the same stupid idiot that posted that Donovan was fired. And when. You were called out on it by multiple posters, you still didn't correct it. "Finding rhythm". Sure, he's the next SGA. He was just hiding it. It's people like you that give us Kentucky fans a bad reputation. They point to people like you when they say how stupid our fans are, when you're definitely in the minority.
BCG could actually recruit. Either way, it's between Pope or BCG on who is the worst coach in history. We know you're a Pope fan. You say you are aren't, but you literally defend him like he's a family member. Thank God pussies like yourself haven't been running the program for most of our history. This needs to stop. Pope is nowhere near as bad as BCG.
I know you are freaking out and need to take out your frustrations by using hyperbolic statements, but both coaches coached 2 seasons, BCG's best season, ended as a 9 seed and he had patterson, Crawford and Bradly. He went to the NIT with Meeks and Patterson on the squad. He was also a drunk that was trying to get with a players girlfriend.
He was also recruiting Vinny freaking Zollo and Dakota Euton. So just stop.
Also, this whole idea that we are in worst shape than we have ever been, again, stop. Kentucky Shame is 10 times worse than a sweet 16 and a 2nd round loss on the NCAAT. If you were a UK fan during those dsys, you know what I'm talking about. Obviously, you weren't a fan back then.
Y'all need to grow up and act like this isn't your first time dealing with adversity.
that's like the 3rd time you've brought up billy d. we get itYou don't know a damn thing about ball. You're the same stupid idiot that posted that Donovan was fired. And when. You were called out on it by multiple posters, you still didn't correct it. "Finding rhythm". Sure, he's the next SGA. He was just hiding it. You are talking to one of the biggest morons on the entire board. He literally makes a prediction every other day, and right now he's 0/1000.McBride averaged 5.6 boards in the Sun Belt conference...not trying to be a jerk but what on Earth makes you believe he'll average 7 for us in the SEC?
This.BCG could actually recruit. Either way, it's between Pope or BCG on who is the worst coach in history. We know you're a Pope fan. You say you are aren't, but you literally defend him like he's a family member. Thank God pussies like yourself haven't been running the program for most of our history.
Well there was that game he hit 8 threesPoint me to one. What was your favorite Kam Williams game?
Are we talking about the same Mo that couldn’t beat out Jelly for the starting spot?Haha, MO who left would pack this guy’s **** for him, some of you guys are living in a fantasy world.
OMG, this is such an out of touch post. Here's what you simpletons can't understand...most of us DGAF about Mark Pope. I want UK to be extremely successful. As I type this, I realize Clappy the Clown probably could do better. Sigh.
Where did you play? Where did you coach?I played at a pretty high level and have coached at a pretty decent HS level for quite some time. What you see as rhythm is the ebbs and flows of a Mark Pope coached team. His teams are wildly inconsistent. That's his consistency. He’s played at Oklahoma st, Nevada and James Madison. Looks like he’s improved every year. Considering UK’s situation, you better take him.Well I may be wrong but McBride may have played at Oklahoma State his Freshman year. He has power 5 experience. Probably would be a decent bench piece but I cringe at the thought of him starting.
In the 9 games he got to play over 20 mpg he averaged 12.6 ppgTennessee and Texas. He got hurt in the Texas game, but he was a lot more assertive in both those games.
At his size and length, he was a matchup problem in both those games.
No, his numbers aren't great, but if you watched those games and didn't see a different Kam Williams, then I can't help you. He was starting to turn a corner.
