He’s out there, what are the chances with him? I would assume he would cost a lot. Would you go all out for him? At this point you might as well.
Yep- get your 4 Mil harpoon and go big fish hunting. I like Kam and Hawthorne at the 3 with the need to overachieve at 4. The build requires this for ceiling imo. Stokes and Hawthorne may not be able to both be here- maybe you could litigate that to Hawthorne as a 2-4 role to collect minutes in the event that we get Stokes.

Whatever is left over build your bench, maybe that means Reece Potter is our backup 5- if that means getting a check big enough to land an impact 4 make that trade.

Ask Rainmaker. He's the resident insider. He's probably BFFs with his "daddy"

I think realistically at this point we have to pivot to taking known backups that WANT to play here, and then shooting for the stars.

Target Muurinen, Graves, Momcilivic, Marauskus etc for the starter level 4 and see what the interest levels are and what the price tag is
Take McBride, Bol Bowen, or Jalen Reed if they want to come here and at worst you have a 4 you can wheel out there.

Target Tyler Nickel, McNeil, Brown, or Able for the shooting.
Take Janowski, Cox, or Riley if they want to come here and at worst you have some bench shooting and depth.

Continue the push for Stokes, Kieta, and any re-class players.
Take Dynes or similar to add Center depth (Not Ideal, but there are 15 roster spots and we need depth).

Basically at this point, take the sure bets and then try to hit home runs. Had he done that with Rancick, We'd be in a much better position today.

Same could be said for Stokes...
Indeed. I haven't been overly negative toward Pope, but I've lost confidence that he can be a hard *ss for the guys that need that. And a lot of dudes between 18-24 need a coach to challenge them, not coddle them. Idk if it's just his personality or a result of raising four girls and no boys, but he seems highly resistant to getting mean with the players even when it's needed.

From what I’ve read of this kid, we don’t want anything to do with him. Serious attitude issues.

I mean, that’s one way to be sure Pope gets fired. Sign a kid that he cannot control who would speak Finnish to answer media questions when the team loses.

Pope is running out of options. He has to go for someone, attitude or not. They say Stokes has an attitude, so why go after Stokes and not Muurinen? Get both, get one. Just can't go empty handed without trying. Cause right now, nothing is working and not much to choose from.
All that zoom vetting is too narrow at this point

No agent is going to allow their client anywhere near Mark Pope unless it’s to fit him for a custom made clown suit, when they use him to get a bigger bad from a more established coach!

See the Freeman recruitment for a prime example.
Agents get paid from kids that sign big contracts. They could care were the money come from. Dense
