Replacement for Stirtz or for Banks?
Some praise for Ty'Reek Coleman from diehard Illinois State fan Connor Burns:
Love it. Nasty.. a dog.. Sounds like Ben's type. Show me a freshman who isn't a little turnover prone.. Ben will shape him up.
AND he can shoot. Even better.
And 3 years leftIn 35 games as a freshman, he averaged 23 mpg and shot 50% from the field, 42% from three and 70% from the FT line.

Agreed. That looks good to me. I always hope for a throwback design but if this is what we have next year, I'm OK with that.Anyone else noticed a subtle change in the unis.. This video, and the McKeever visit photo. No stripe(s) around the waist. If true, looks better IMHO.
Such an impressive nucleus of young talent on the team next year — Coleman, Sage, Coon, Harris, Koch, Thompson, Jirak … all sophomores or younger. And 3 years left![]()
Might just be an untucked jersey. Hard to tell.Anyone else notice a subtle change in the unis.. This video, and the McKeever visit photo. No stripe(s) around the waist. If true, looks better IMHO.
Yeah I was just thinking that next year's team looks to be young but talented. There will still be some experience with Combs, Manyawu etc. If McKeever commits, looks like he will be a junior.Such an impressive nucleus of young talent on the team next year — Coleman, Sage, Coon, Harris, Koch, Thompson, Jirak … all sophomores or younger.
Hearing McKeever is a hawk! Just waiting on him to announce very solid media source.
Yep. Howard and McKeever would be juniors. Manyawu and Combs would be seniors. If Banks gets the waiver would he be a junior or a senior? Would they wipe off both of his juco years or just one?Yeah I was just thinking that next year's team looks to be young but talented. Not sure on Banks.. I'd like to know what's going to happen there, but wouldn't we all?Yep. Howard and McKeever would be juniors. Manyawu and Combs would be seniors. If Banks gets the waiver would he be a junior or a senior? Would they wipe off both of his juco years or just one?
That would be a nice bonus if Ben can get solid production from him. Didn't realize Jirak used to be a guard.I'm looking forward to seeing how our current 7 footer, Jirak, develops.
He was a guard and handled the ball a lot before the growth spurts.

So there should still be enough experience on the team without having to totally lean on the younger guys.
As a reminder.. BJ, Roy and Ed all played big roles on that 86-87 team as sophomores, with Gamble and Lohaus being the seniors. Not saying they win 30 next year, but let's just say I feel pretty good about next season. Especially if Ben gets McKeever.
I would say the 70% FT's is more indicative of his stroke, at this point, than the 41% from 3.Nice arc on his 3pt shot. Looks like a shooter with those shots, and then you see him driving with the ball too.
So glad to read that Iowa is the frontrunner for McKeever. I live a few minutes away from his school. He will be a massive get for us. I don’t know how he’s going to do with the weather though.
I’m loving this offseason.
Wisconsin had a guy like that about 11 years ago.I'm looking forward to seeing how our current 7 footer, Jirak, develops.
