Sounds like he will be a Hawk. Close to done.

He's not the answer we're looking for. Not sure how he'd see the floor playing Ben's man to man defense. He'd get put in ball screens all day long. He doesn't have the lateral quickness needed to play BigTen ballSounds like he will be a Hawk. Close to done.

I wonder why Ben is spending time recruting him then.
This would be a HUGE upgrade at the 5. Wait did we have a true 5 last year…?

I bet Mckeever will cost 3 million or more. It's very likely that a Bennett Stirtz type PG will cost at least $2.5M.
The center Ben wants? At least another $2.5M.
Compare that to what Luka Garza (2021 National Player of the Year) is making in the NBA:
2024-2025: $2,162,606
2025-2026: $2,461,463
Pay the man!!I bet Mckeever will cost 3 million or more.
Do the Hawks have the $$$?
Hopefully we aren’t spending too much money on him thenLooks like Drew's best asset is rebounding.
Looking at St Mary's last 3 games, here were Drew's stats (all against quality opponents):
vs Gonzaga (70-59 win)
12 min, 1-7 from the field, 0-2 FTs for 2 pts, 8 rebs, 0 blocks, 0 steals, 1 assist
vs Santa Clara (76-71 loss)
31 min, 3-8 from the field, 5-7 FTs for 11 pts, 11 rebs, 1 block, 0 steals, 2 assists
vs Texas A&M (63-50 loss in NCAA Tourney)
29 min, 0-3 from the field, 0-4 FTs for 0 pts, 8 rebs, 1 block, 1 steal, 4 assists

Hopefully we aren’t spending too much money on him thenI have no idea what the number is, but I’m hearing we have a very good shot of landing him
And No, the Big O isn't Owen Freeman...I demand that BigO demands that he commit to Iowa.
Thank you.
Franny, thanks for posting all this great info..appreciated.From a report from yesterday:

He reminds me of Hausen. Thick, not real quick, good shooter.Decker was #2 in the NATION in 3 pt FG% last year..wow. I like.
Might have to disagree here a bit...looks a lot more athletic than Hausen. Attacks the rim and paint too. Check it out.He reminds me of Hausen. Thick, not real quick, good shooter.
Decker doesn’t seem like a point guard…only one assist per gameFrom a report from yesterday:

ESPN ranks Fru #27 in their top 40. He was the portal player wanting $3M. McKeever is not ranked in ESPN's top 40.Couple more to look at include Freitag from Buffalo and George from Syracuse. Another target at C Iowa really likes is Fru from L'ville.
I always said fans care more about the name on the front of the jersey... there are too many inconsequential players in the NCAA yet we worry about the .05% that are truly worthy of NIL.Their Name, Image & Likeness sure is worth a lot!
None of this is pay for play, of course.
Luka Garza is earning $2,461,463 this year playing for the Boston Celtics....
What a time to be alive....
Ben will look at overall movement and his passing from the top of the key more than anything.I agree he does not appear to be 7 foot stiff. Moves well, good passer, shooting?, defense?, etc. I trust Ben M to know what his potential is at Iowa.
Fru has some crazy good highlights, def doesn't move like a 6'11 guy, runs really well and would be a massive, instant plug and play at the 5 for Iowa.ESPN ranks Fru #27 in their top 40. He was the portal player wanting $3M. McKeever is not ranked in ESPN's top 40.
