He’s shot 30% from three for two consecutive years. What am I missing here?

i get this kid is a lock down defender and is highly rated in the portal, but if you are pope and going to back to what you know....a 3+ year career 39% FG shooter and 30% 3FG shooter seems like an odd fit.

I heard the same stuff about Lamont Butler. "Hope he is coming here as the backup PG". Ridiculous crap. This guy is a defensive stopper. We haven't had a guard that could stay in front of anybody or play pick and roll correctly in two years
Hard to argue with your logic. But I like him in a 6th man role at a minimum. Otherwise, if he comes to UK I'll just hope those percentages will improve with a different system and maybe altered role.

Amari was supposed to be some kind of defensive pro. He couldn’t guard in a phone booth with Pope coaching him.
Supposedly this year’s team was put together for defense.
What happened there?
We have no defensive scheme. No one is talking out there. There’s no help defense.
Poor defensive rebounding.
It doesn’t matter who we bring in if there’s no coaching.
Mark was the captain on the 96 championship team.... That should account for something...
I'm not completely sold on him however he could be a great defensive player who can handle the ball.
I like this guy. I’ve been seething at Pope recruiting non shooters but this guys defense is on another level. Worth the non shooting.
Chandler's departure makes this interesting for this announcement. Definitely a good piece to have locked up early "potentially"imo.
