Game 30 - Campbell at North Carolina

I’m not going to lie, seeing these AB against an average Campbell staff with BC coming in doesn’t make me feel great.
Also, COOP walked after barely swinging the bat and we go:
- Immediate (and failed) bunt attempt (didn’t look at any pitches)
- Swing first pitch fly out
- Swing first pitch almost fly out foul

The arms they’ve thrown tonight have been solid, other than ND’s Friday starter every single one of them have been better than anything they put out there.
He walked in 2 pitches that were really good pitchers pitches. They weren’t going to get burned by the guy who’d already gotten them twice. Swinging at the first pitch doesn’t make a difference.
They’ve been really good. Sometimes it’s that simple.
For as good as Pitching has been - our ABs (excluding Coop) have been hideous
I’ve never seen us swing through so many balls. And Chase so far out of the zone.
It’s surprising to me we’ve basically decided to make Rose unavailable this weekend.
But stretching him out may be important down the line. You never know when you’re going to need another guy to give you length.

This guy had an era over 7.2. Whip of 2.0, only one k/ inning, gave up 3 doubles and 3 HR’s in only 10 innings. But we’re making him look like cy young. This game/ weight on our staff even if we win is solely on our offense.
Rose does it again...superb 1-2-3 and he's basically pitched a start (5IP, 65 total pitches, 70% K-rate)
With the way he’s pitched this year, he may be being prepped to try the Sunday role.

Most of that ERA is getting bombed once as a starter.
Then he didn’t pitch for 2+ weeks and had thrown 3 scoreless innings against Coastal and State his last two outings.
His stuff looked good to me.
Also, we played 27 innings in 30 hours then flew home and had yesterday off. I doubt our players got exhaustive scouting reports deep into their bullpen.
I fell asleep sometime after 10 listening to the game, woke up at midnight and we are stilll playing.
