Pope missed on a recruit? I'm just shocked.
Someone was paying up for the kid. I argued why I thought Pope would push for it to avoid the risk of having to go to the portal. But paying this kid as one of your top 2 or 3 players is also a risk.
Does take one of the bigger money programs out of the PG1 market in the portal.
Imagine if he cant get ANYONE to come next year and we have a mass exodus. That would be the depths of the abyss of the bottom of the barrel. I do think he will get some transfers but probably way down the list.
But this one I'm fine with. There will be much better PG's in the portal for him to whiff on.

Same as this year 3rd and 4th options at every position and then over paying for every single one of them. This is such BS that Mitch is to lazy to make a decision to just go ahead and fire his ***. If we have to sit through a season similar to this or worse what good is that to the UK program?

Not sure choosing to not pay $3 million for a 23 year old unproven mid production Euro Pro is "whiffing" on a recruit. I'm sure we kicked the tires like several other programs and either decided it wasn't for us or offered a lower amount and the Leprechaun at Louisville was fully willing to overspend. We need players, great players at that. But we've already been down the road of overspending for mid level bench pieces hoping they could be starters. I'd personally rather go after a proven portal PG, keep Lowe as PG2, and grab another high 3 or low 4 star third string point guard with tons of eligibility as a depth piece to bring along and improve.
The whole wiff thing especially by the parody account is funny, not really. We still have eleven players. Until they are in portal. Last year the jq thing didn't pan out. We also had two pgs until his daddy decided to send his son elsewhere to nova. Johnson couldn't be a pg, yet he showed he could play on highschool.
