When I think about it, it bothers me quite a bit. Had it up to here with people telling me we are not fans while they wear a Cyclones shirt in the NCAA tournament game while our guys fight and claw to try to win. No more nice guy platitudes from me to those types.

He's also got a 63% win percentage at UK.
So if you're a Pope fan, you literally aren't a fan of UK winning much.
UK usually gets down double digits to these types of teams. Have to avoid that.
This season has been mostly one long torture session for fans but **IF** this just happens to let us squeak by ISU and beat UT again while Arkansas wallops High Point and then instantly folds to Arizona, that would be the kind of comedy value that would go a long way towards taking the sting out of the hole we’re in with recruiting etc.

That's how I feel about this team, and if Garrison will show up every game, I really think we can beat some teams. Chandler needs to relax on his shot, and be the man to, I think Kam might be big for us also, he has a sweet stroke, and has some range.

You do remember that he came in with ZERO returning players, right? That he had to build an entire team and staff very, very quickly. And still managed to pull off wins against Gonzaga, Duke (3 top 10 draft picks) 4 first round overall, Florida (18th pick), Oklahoma twice (7th pick) and a number of other Quad 1 wins. With ZERO first round NBA players on the roster. Oh, and this season he lost 2 starters (2 of our top 3 players), and probably our best 3 pt shooter for much of the season. But, sure, he totally sucks.
All that being said, I think he's probably not the right guy for us because he can not recruit at all. If we get Stokes, which I doubt, it will be purely because we paid the most. The recruiting game has changed drastically and he's not suited for it.

Lowe and JQ were never healthy. Low had a blown out shoulder and JQ hadn't played in a year.

The St Johns game is a prime example of what Lowe and JQ can do. DA couldn’t even get the ball up the court, Lowe came in and dominated. They couldn't guard him. JQ dominated their entire front court.
And as far as DA goes, he stunk until late January. He blew the uNC AND Missouri games with his playground hero ball. We had 6 point leads with 2 minutes left in both games and he tried to do crap he wasn't capable of. Now look at him, he developed.
Go back to playing video games, because that's all you know.
Duke is supposed to be the best team in the country, they lost 1 guy… ..ONE and almost lost to 15 loss Florida State, then damn near lost to a 16 seed, in fact, should have lost to a 16 seed.

Give Pope a healthy roster for a full season and let him learn from his mistakes before you judge him.
I have news for you, Phil Jackson isn't coming out of retirement to coach UK. What's going to happen is we're going to roll the dice on another young coach and hope he's the right guy.
I would rather roll with the guy that has shown he can beat any goliath out there and learn from his mistakes. Dan Hurley learned from his, his winning percentage was terrible before he won his 2 titles and he didn't have to deal with a crazy amount of injuries, like Pope has.

JQ was admittedly healthy early on. That's according to him and his father. The he played a few games and magically had swelling. He's healthy, he just quit because he was literally hurting his stock by playing. He is just overrated. Aside from blocks, he didn't put up that great of stats last year at AZ st.
Lowe had his shoulder popped out of socket, not removed from his body. Lol. He just isn't very good. Look at his career stats. He is a ball dominant guard and high volume shooter that can't shoots. He's small, weak and not overly athletic. The general consensus even amongst experts is we vastly overpaid him. We are actively recruiting over him for a reason.
Not to mention, Aberdeen is better. And Moreno has given great overall productions and likely much better offensive production than JQ.

I know Aberdeen's 26 against UL, 10 against UNC and Mich st. He was clearly awful. And this being a team sports, he is clearly solely to blame for those losses. Every mistake was on him. I agree! And obviously the coaches have developed him from being a major contributor to UF title team to likely being a round of 32 contributor. His development has been among the greatest stories ever at UK.
