Maybe it's time to bring it back to Des Moines. Supposedly the problem w/Des Moines was not enough seats. But if there is fewer people going?
The last time I attended was in Des Moines, and the last time before was at the Target Center in Minneapolis.

dsm problem was to many meatball iowa fans buying way to many tickets, thinking that all of their buddies would want to go. there were people practically giving away their extra tickets all around outside the arena. they didnt have anyone to sell their tickets to because nobody wanted to travel to dsm without tickets in hand so they just stayed home. i got my tickets for dsm from ticketmaster when they used to release them a year in advance, if not for that i think dsm couldve been the cheapest scalping in 20 years. hell, there was a guy that posted here that had tickets for his wife and kids, and they stayed at the hotel to swim instead of going to the sessions.

I went to the NCAA tournament every year from 1990-2004. I went in Des Moines and once in NYC since then because I wanted to go to MSG and a buddy had really good seats. Several friends still go, but with all of the viewing access and the ability to have every mat on a screen with replay at my finger tips makes it better at home. We set up 4 big TV screens and then a few laptops on a table and we can watch the whole event while drinking and eating and being merry without spending thousands of dollars. I think it isn't lack of interest in wrestling slowing down attendance as much as the fact that viewing from home has improved so much. My peer group does the same with the BIG and big12 tournaments and we have a blast. It is harder to keep up on everything happening when you are actually there watching live. Plus they don't have Confluence Des Moines IPA on tap in these arenas. Can't watch wrestling without that.

you had me till the Confluence beer part. most of the beers ive had of theirs is meh at best, almost always underwhelming.

It wasn’t that big of a problem. It was well attended and DSM got a lot of compliments for how it went. The area is better now and would make for an even better experience.
