*****Iowa vs UCLA 🏆 Game Thread*****

[hawkeyewx]

Iowa has 2 points in the last 9 minutes.

[pablow]

We're needlessly intimadated.

[RoseBowlorBust]

Crazy the drop off from the top 3 to 4 teams in country and the next threshold. No chance.

[Hawk48]

talk about team choking

[Jonesy5960]

Now we're not guarding 12 foot shots. What an ugly start.

[longliveCS40]

Worst I've seen Iowa play in years. UCLA is fantastic but yikes. The girls look terrified.

[OnlyTheObscure]

No parity. 2-3 really good teams and the rest are not in position to compete.

[Hawksbyamillion_rivals316961]

They keep passing up wide open shots. This isn’t a team you’re gonna get many layups on…

[airhawk]

[GeorgePeeples2]

2-15 shooting.
7 turnovers.
5 points.

ouch!

[im4hawks50595]

game over no fight iowa looks like a class a highschool team against wnba, cant even get a shot off

[IowaCityLit]

how did ohio state hang w/ them yesterday?

Played completely different style. JJ too rigid.

[DTP2]

Playing scared for no reason. So many shots are short.

One ugly dude

[citizenHawk1]

On pace for a 90-20 game. Damn, thought they would make it a game today.

[HawkFan10]

This is about how i figured it would go....

[IowaCityLit]

They aren’t really, though. Third game in 3 games against a senior loaded team. Our team
Is loaded with young talent and only going to get better.

No. You can’t look at them in a vacuum. Hawks need an upgrade in size and athleticism to compete at that level. More experience won’t get them that.

[pablow]

We are simply giving UCLA too much respect.

[Hawksbyamillion_rivals316961]

Full court press but it didn’t seem like a good idea at the time. Hell at this point, give it a shot

[AFM22]

Whatever you say, bud.

[LetsGoHawks83]

They need to play like they have nothing to lose...

Playing like they are afraid of UCLA

[HIWILLE]

I believe they will settle down and play better but it’s gonna be too late then. I just hope the second half they can play at least even with UCLA.

[Franisdaman]

2-15 shooting.
7 turnovers.
5 points.

ouch!

[Phat Stax]

Making it to the title game is about what I was hoping for. On to the tournament!

[GeorgePeeples2]

What’s the over-under on number of posts critical of JJ in the rest of this thread?

[IowaCityLit]

Play your frosh for experience in this environment. Who cares if you lose by 30 or 50

[RuggieC]

They really look like a team that was happy to make it to the finals and that was the end goal.
Lots of time to play better but they all look sick. Bad entry passes again. Short on their shots. Getting beat down the floor. Bad defense..

Not much good to say at this point....start the bus?

[Jonesy5960]

Our 2 seniors have 4 turnovers and zero points.

[LetsGoHawks83]

We are completely out sized in the paint....but keep forcing it.

BRAIN DEAD

[HawkFan10]

Iowa just isn't in the top class in the country and it isn't even remotely close. They need such a big improvement in athleticism it isn't even funny.

Complain we can’t compete then wave the white flag after 10 minutes.

[longliveCS40]

This is about how i figured it would go....

Didn't expect a win but this is atrocious. Unforced errors.

[IowaCityLit]

Disappointing. Forcing the post. Does JJ have anything else in the playbook?

[Franisdaman]

this is like a 1 seed vs 16 seed in the NCAA Tournament

[HawkFan10]

BRAIN DEAD

That is 100% Jan's game play...post post post post post keep feeding no matter what..

[im4hawks50595]

no set plays for chit chat is plain dumb, not sure it would matter with the hawkeye turnover express today

[HawkFan10]

Disappointing. Forcing the post. Does JJ have anything else in the playbook?

Nope

[LetsGoHawks83]

Lazy pass turnovers....
Yay

[BubsFinn]

Lazy, sloppy passes. You just can't do that. That's jr high ****.

[HIWILLE]

****!!!
