Bc he bumped a weight and didn't add the needed strength to compete at 141. It's been obvious all year, long before he injured his finger. He's been taping fingers on his other hand for at least 2 seasons and like you said, he didn't have trouble riding guys then.
This makes more sense. I can get behind this kind of argument.

So, your argument is 8lbs turns an absolute monster rider into a guy that can’t ride at all? You really want to go with that?

Detroit didn’t sell out. We had 4 all session tickets. We couldn’t get close to face value. After the quarterfinals we sold them all to a scalper for $50 bucks. As we went into the arena on the night of the finals, the scalper still had the finals tickets we sold him and said he didn’t sell any of the tickets he purchased from us.
I keep getting NCAA half off ticket emails. They haven’t sold it out this year.

And the AD backed the staff on both situations and she was involved. But all the people who have no clue about either situation are the ones who are right 🤷.
What no one knows is whether a coach with better people skills might have been able to salvage the situation without everyone going to Defcon 5, regardless of whether the AD ultimately backed TnT in the end. We all have our opinions.

How much is Corby paying you, huntinghawk? I'll double it if you switch sides. We could use a scrapper on our team.
I don't care which side Corby is on. It's more the part about he at least provides some Iowa wrestling related info. The dickhead club do nothing but *****. Nobody would know or care if Nashville or I left. Losing guys like chief and gobblin stinks for many of us. Yes chief posted recently, but he isn't a regular poster any more thanks to the dickheads. Might as well run Corby off as well.

I know that coaches are suppose to coach so I get that.

I just would like someone to ask the wrestlers are you being coached to circle and tigh up and defend for 6 min and then take 1 I say again 1 shot. I'm just saying maybe the lack of offense is not all on the staff.

Peterson same as he was at rut
Drake is drake
Bailey same as little rock with exception of top game
Block really his first year attack rate seems ok
Williams/VV same as LR/OKST
Mikey just fine same as he has been
PK is iowa grit same as he has been
Angelo first year good def needs higher attack rate just like H.S.
Gabe same as H.S. needs to fine take down
Kueter have no clue lost his aggression no shots no cradle from opponents shot can't get off bottom.

So I just do t think coaches are saying stop doing g what you do well. Hey but maybe just don't think it's all that.

Fair enough. Was just joshing with you. Speaking for myself, I'm not looking to run anyone off. Respectful disagreement is the essence of a fun board. Chief in particular was a quality poster and hopefully he returns. I can also understand someone opting to sit out the now seemingly endless debate about the future of the coaching staff, especially if you have a relationship with the principals involved.

Nothing against him at all. A bit young and naive when he responded to our fans that his family just wanted what other coaches were doing(Taylor), not thinking they were breaking rules to do it. I still think he would have been fine with the situation of us following the rules if he hadn’t had a bad freestyle season because Stanich and Blaze had his number, and at the same time his teammate Jax was blowing up in freestyle. This is where his and his dad’s ego’s took over, and demanded what Jax was getting , screw the rules. I guess winning at any cost over rules their superior religious morals and values they preached about. I’m sure they got nasty about it, especially his parents, and a guy like Robie probably would have continued to choke on their D to try to buy more time, but they should have known Tom isn’t taking **** or abuse from anyone, and probably did tell them to eat a bag of D’s, thus burning the bridge. I didn’t like how Bo said God told him to leave Iowa after God told him to choose Iowa a few months earlier, and insinuated Iowa is not the program to go to if you are a Christian or you want to be a decent human. I also the God he was referring to telling him to decommit was his dad.
Their whole religious schtick is contrived... usable to them as they see fit.

You can blame the NCAA for a lot of this. Tickets were very difficult to get when lower bowl seats, not in the middle, were allocated to colleges. It killed the enthusiasm of the tournament.
Where are your offers coming from?
How many Hawk fans did you used to see in Stillwater prior to this year?

Assistants won’t move the needle at Iowa with current leadership. Full stop.
Not buying this. Also not saying we will get new assistants. But as a hypothetical, let's say Nolf and Cassar (or pick another solid younger HW name) came in as our new assistants, with Nolf told he's new HC in 2 years. Even if Tom gave them no flexibility to change training (I don't buy that either), you can't tell me their mere presence wouldn't help recruiting alot. With big new names as assistants, that alone would move the recruiting needle alot.

Dude: You always have a reason (excuse) for this lame product we've been putting on the mat. They have TVs and online access at Okie State and Penn State and yet those places haven't dropped attendance, just the opposite. Okie State was rocking when they kicked our a$$es all over the f'ing planet. Guess nobody wanted to watch that beating on TV or via the internet. What a joke! The reason our fans aren't going to CHA and the reason I bought a $250 front frow ticket for the PSU dual and didn't attend is because our product sucks right now. We are putting two hours of boring on the mat at CHA, and that's why our attendance is dropping. It's nothing to do with the TV or internet. Ugh, you can come up with some stupid sh*t at times.
Let's not forget season tickets also recently doubled..Did that happen at Oklahoma st? Such stupid s*it I know 😂

Football sells out. Women's basketball sells out. Men's basketball is up this year because of the product.

It's almost all product decline effecting the wrestling attendance in my opinion.
Sells out or the tickets scanned are a sellout?

Exactly these 🤡s don't know anything and are jealous that I do 🤷. Can't imagine being a grown man and thinking about another grown man constantly these people have issues. If they ever got married they hate life and the dog probably won't even go by them. Some people just suck at life we can't help them all

So you just made something up to fit your narrative got it
Nobody made anything up. Im sorry facts get in the way of your Brands butt kissing. You really want to argue rhe attendance of wrestling vs football and both men's and women's basketball this this year?

Anyone see the HWC newsletter?

This is how far we have fallen.

It says we are lazer focused on winning razor thin margins.

Think about that for a minute.Hell it might even be true unfortunately, but you are going to brag about it in a newsletter to some of your most loyal fans?

If I was an opposing coach and I saw this I would make a copy and show recruits and parents if they were considering Iowa.

Hard to even believe

Enough with the facts 😂. You imagine living the life of these 🤡 s it can't be easy
Gets old when the facts get twisted to fit the narrative. Im of the belief some changes need made as the product on the mat has gotten stale. Like maybe a new assistant or 2 to start. But the negativity on here is suffocating and has driven away a lot of good posters. I originally came here as it was a good place to get some inside info, now it’s just a place with no inside info and bunch of loud complainers.

I think ticket prices have almost tripled in the last 3-4years

A quick review of the top tiered wrestling program season ticket costs this season :

Iowa $175

An OSU $183

PSU $245

Okla state $300

Iowa is still significantly cheaper than other programs but doesn’t sell out and the tickets that are sold don’t come to the matches. Keep reaching.

I get emails from the NCAA directly as I bought tickets before. Previous years Iowa fans traveled way better. It was absolutely dismal this year.

Yes either that or coaching, those are the only 2 variables that changed from prior years. I'm giving the staff the benefit of the doubt that they didn't coach riding out of him.
You know bumping from 133 to 141 isn't just about a random "8 lbs". Trying to pretend otherwise is you knowing you're wrong on this one.
